Yes, incredibly competition for Nadal at the US Open. Equal to Federer, Djokovic, Sampras and even God himself. How Nadal won those US Opens is beyond belief. Best USO player ever too. Just give him another 2-3 years. The 2020 USO final against Lajovic is gonna be epic, no?
You can't expect a top 3 seed to draw the other top 2 every time, no? Especially when they're old frail and constantly injured no?

Right...man we could've had the best big 4 ever. Gasquet, Youzhny, Del NoBackhando and Berrettini. Youzhny didn't play long enough.

Give it a rest dude. I'm surprised the device you're using to post hasn't short circuited yet due to all the tears you're crying. Anyway, shouldn't you be at work

Lol, this guy will never stop crying. :-D :-D :-D :-D

And let's not forget Federer won his last 2 slams by beating Cilic in the final. But every time when he faced Djokovic he lost.

This had to happen one day. It's life. Let's see them at AO though. It's high time one of them wins a GS. Otherwise, it will be really funny.

For all 4 of the younger guys to go over in one day. Wow. What a beautiful day for tennis. I cannot believe I was at work.

Listen, child - I’m a Federer fan too, but if Nadal surpasses him in slams, I won’t be whinging like you are.

40-15, not Nadal’s draws, are why we are where we are.

Agreed upon by all objective tennis observers.

The Old 3 and the Young 4 or 5 or whatever seem very close to parity at the moment. We just need one of the young guys to defeat the Old 3 in a Slam and the new era will begin.

The nextgen players now dominate the smaller tournaments and the thirtysomethings have been marginalized. It only remains for the nextgen players to take over the majors, and I don't now the timeframe on that.

It's not about 19, it's the way Nadal gets handed Slams on a silver platter over and over again.

Is Thiem really in the same gen as those three though. He became a legal adult before any of the other three were eligible to receive a drivers license.
Absolutely, we call the big 3 in the same group and Fed is 5 and 6 years older. Why not the same for Thiem which is only a few years older?

Watching these matches and seeing the results makes me wonder... are the new gen better on faster courts? These seem very fast, and a variety of shot making. Both Fed and Djoker out before SF. Anything to do with the courts? Only saw a few sets.

Nothing is confirmed, they need to be doing this in Grand Slams regularly and they are not doing it. We all know what will happen at Australian Open, these youngsters will fly away in R3-4, with the exception of Medvedev probably, he is gaining consistency.

As of now, apart from thiem at RG, none stands a chance at any slam, big3 aren't their only problems there
Medvedev was a few games away too. As of now you are right but all of the named players will stand realistic chances to win slams in the next 5-10 years.

I've never seen epic nadal (@MichaelNadal ) choking like that, he was literally a point away from serving for the match in 3rd set, netted an easy smash.(by his standards)
He was 2 sets and a break up, went into 2015 mode and let meddy come back..
Let's be real, friend (and I'm not even a rafa fan)

Neither am I a Rafa fan. But Nadal is Nadal. No matter how old and declined he is and how much he chokes he’ll usually find a way to win in the end. That’s what he did in this year’s USO. But Meddy was real close. Look, I think you are a bit premature in your negative judgment of the young players. They are all still in their early 20-ties (except Demonic) and they still have many years to prove themselves. They are not like Dimitrovs or Nishikoris who definitely are now going downhill and it’s quite safe to say they will most likely not win a slam.

The thing is, Lostgen (Dimi, nishi, rao, goff) etc had to deal with prime or very good level of big3, but the next gen has 30+ (35+ in fed) big3 and still they are failing to even reach them in slams..
The real next gen were fed, hewitt, safin, rod etc in early 2000s and djokodal+mury+delpo in late 2000s....
There's been no rising great players since delpo's breakout in 2009.

This nextgen players are simply waiting for big3's legs to give up and then feast upon them. Heck, they can't even do that dominantly or regularly

OK, that’s one of the ways to look at it. Another could be that the BIG3 are so exeptional that even past 30 they are so great that it’s an extremely tough task to beat them. Also Fed only started dominating the game in 2003 when he was 22, Djokovic in 2011 when he was 23-24... players now mature later than they used to in the 80-ties or 90-ties and they last longer. Only Nadal is a freak who escapes all stereotypes cause he reached very high level very early and still has it.

And BTW while you mention Del Potro don’t forget Stanimal. He’s a player who doesn’t suit any template cause he broke through in slams when he was approaching 29. But definitely he should be listed as an ATG player. :)

Seriously, he turned the match into one hell of a long night. That smash was by far the easiest shot in that rally. It would have been 40-15ish had he lost the match from there.

We had such Situation already a lot of times. Big three do not care about masters these days, did not prevent them from winning the last 12 slams while your new big four haven’t even one between them.

Why would I cry given that I get multiple replies all the time. My actions are clearly working. Keep replying.
Nothing is working, you are making a complete fool of yourself by constantly exposing that a guy who couldn’t care less about you and does not know you exist controls your whole life. Give it a rest, Nadal won’t stop winning slams because you are whining in an Internet forum. He will keep on building his legacy and there is exactly zero some internet warriors can do about it.

Controls my whole life lmao yeah. I can't sleep at night, I get randomly pissed in the middle of parties, I can't focus at work. No, I really do, totally. Do you have any other revelations? I just want to see what kind of S you can come up with that has as much to do with reality as Nadal having a tough US Open draw.

Even in a post trying to convince others that your life does not revolve around hating Nadal you cannot help but making a dumbass remark about Nadals US Open draw. Hilarious dude, just proved me right. Could laugh if it wasn’t actually sad.

Omfg dude who gives a S, think of me what you want. If you think that a guy constantly hating on a player on a tennis forum is sad think about a guy who talks to this exact guy. That's you and half of the Nadal fans here. You dont reply to someone when you dont care so please keep replying and making up more stories about me. Your replies bother me like a painted wall.

I genuinely don’t care who you hate or what you do with your time. Was just meant as a good advice. Anyways, you are destroying any good discussion here with your unqualified posts. The topic of this thread are Zverev, Tsitsipas, Berrettini etc. why the hell do you bring Nadal into it?
