New Blades Prediction

Seems Wilson's got the blade on clearance currently--anyone care to speculate on if they change much? The last update got a lot of mixed feedback and seems to be love-hate.

My guess is a tad stiffer, they tone down the green a bit, and they might drop the SW, it doesn't seem to be selling that well?

Its been out 2.5 years and its still $200US. In Oz theyare still $329AU! They must be selling well because the price has barely moved. Which is a bugger because i want to try one.

Did you get a chance to try it? Was it the 18x20 or 16x19? Any impressions on SW and stiffness?
I did get to try the 16X19 model. Strung with Element 1.25 in the lower 50's. Firm feel, more stiff feeling than my SW104's, but also less impact vibration. Swingweight felt to be 325'ish.

Most notable thing was the higher launch angle, which is not a typical attribute of Element strings. Fairly open looking string pattern.

So they keep going on with the stiffer feel of CV blades and not the plush/soft one of the 2015 and previous models. Then it’s a big NO for me.

according to the sweetspot tool on TW the 18x20 CV has one of the largest sweet spots. OF course the PDA has the largest

That’s interesting given the current model. With the high launch angle of the Clash, a racquet I personally didn’t care for, I wonder if they are taking some elements from it for the Blade. You’d hate to see too much change as the current model is pretty solid once you get past the countervail. I’ll likely stick with my Pure Strike but it’ll be interesting to see what they do with the Blade.

Looking at the WilsonTennisJP page on IG, they’ve posted people playtest new Blades that are blacked out, and from what I can see, they are still the regular Blade molds, not a H22 mood.
