Does anyone know anything about this new racquet brand called DAHCOR? Apparently they have just gone live but launching gear in January 2019, so I have been told according to FB.

You can Build Your Own on the BYO section. There you can select the weight and balance of the racket you want among other stuff. Most of the skin paintjobs look cool but some look flimsy. The molds look great, but there's no info if they're foam filled and no info on the RA...and so, you can't choose it either. Both aspects are deal breakers to me.
Nevertheless, a new custom brand is allways welcome to the niche where we already have well established brands like Angell and Zus (I think Vantage is inactive). I own one racket of each brand and they're very, very good.
Actually I do now the owner of Dahcor and like Angell, but not yet tried any of their rackets or prototypes. I iknow they have a partner in China that builds the rackets and they finnish them in a factory outside Lisbon, Portugal. So, no they're not from the USA.

I'm looking forward to try one though.

Welcome Dahcor!

There are some RA in the specs......... the 97/98 frames arer 65/66 RA (unstrung i guess), the 100 is 68RA. I love the PJ options they look like the best out there, almost worth the money themselves, but would like to see the string patterns to know how they are spaced.

Just checked their website. The products look good, some of the PJ are awesome. The customization options are great, and the prices, while high, are not unreasonable - assuming that the quality of the racquets will be at least on par with the other brands. (Which remains to be seen.)

The only thing I would say is that maybe they should have put more thought/marketing research in choosing their name and company logo. According to them, the name is supposed to mean "THAT'S IMPRESSIVE". Count me "unimpressed".
Or "DHA CORE"??? Really?
Their explanation for the logo is even more bizzare. Besides, it just looks like the Tacchini logo rotated 90 degrees.

Gosh, will require a big leap of faith to buy a frame no one has ever heard of or even simple impressions from others. It does look interesting and i do like the PJ options but still a very big leap of faith

How I missed that? You're right!
But still you can't custom choose RA like you can with Angell and Zus.

I would say the very same big leap of faith you took when you've decided to buy your Angells...someone has to be the first
Actually I took the very same leap of faith when I decided to buy a Angell TC 97 and although a great racket and very well built I found it's not my cup of tea...still have it new but not using it.
2 weeks ago I took another leap of faith for a ZUS 100sq, 18x20, 335g, 30,5. The specs alone makes me salivate...I'll have it with me next week.

If you fall in love with someone or something, you take a leap of faith. That's what we tennis nuts do ;-)

Actually Angell was previously named Vantage (2004-2012) before, fairly well known. Paul Angell was the owner of Vantage so product quality and customer satisfaction were never doubtful.

In addition, Paul Angell was with Dunlop for the longest time and was their head of design from early nineties till 2004 I believe and was responsible for pro stock quality Dunlop sticks. Switching to Angell wasn't as big a leap of faith for me atleast given the product pedigree ;)

That said, I am always open for testing and enjoying newer products so bring it on! It's the tennis nerd/holic curse, haha. I will wait for a few reviews however for sticks in my desired specs.

This is a bigger leap! Zero feedback from other peeps who played it and can provide a lot of insight at least. Granted not like play testing but it helps. This case there is zero to go on

The name is a bit off-putting.
Well...it is...when you know why it's called that (totally unnecessary that brand explanation...killed it completely), but Angell is a lot worse until you know why is called that. But for those who never heard about Angell it's weird and even make fun of that (like...Oh you brought the Angel today, hope it helps you...or...next time bring The Holy Spirit)

If you are willing to order in big enough quantity, you can specify any kind of racquet in China i believe. So why is dahcor so special?

These days a company like this always looks for a short name where the .com extension is available. I assume the shortest pronounceable name they found was Dahcor and then they pulled the name explanation out of their back orif.... I mean, office.

Something to be seen...never tried one, never seen one...Angell is made in China in big quantity as well and wouldn’t know it could be special until I got one. And BTW it is special for a lot of people but just a good quality product for me...at least the one I order, maybe the TC95 or the TC100 are special I will never know if I don’t try one...It’s subjective. Why shouldn’t we give Dahcor a chance? I would try one if I got the chance

Dahcor seems to be the name of the founder - Ricardo Dahcor. The Dah Core hidden meaning is just something extra that 'happens' to match the founder's vision.

From their website:

DAHCOR. It's pronounced “THE CORE”. But it means more than that. With 2 hidden meanings that represent perfectly the founder’s vision: DAH is the slang word for ‘THAT’, and ‘COR' for 'IMPRESSIVE’, meaning "THAT'S IMPRESSIVE" as we truly believe DAHCOR products are.

Interestingly, if you read Dahcor backward it becomes a French last name, Rochad.

Tough to break in with a new racquet brand. Becker tried.

This marketing BS is reason enough to pass.

Very clever!!! You’re good and I tell you this because I do know the guy from the courts and didn’t think about reading it backwards. That’s his name really...well, skipping the d...hats off. The guy is crazy about tennis and an entrepreneur but I honestly didn’t know he was building this business until last week. I also have no clue who he is associated with...I really don’t know more than this but I will try to

You can just tell by the weird English and the over-the-top attempt to look swanky. It's like the epitome of a Dubai racquet lol. Too funny. The definition of "new money."

I'm correcting myself about the Rochad being a French name. I was mixing it up with the famous French chef Philippe Rochat.

It turns out the name is most likely of Portuguese origin, judging by Dahcor's FB page that said "Sporting Goods Store in Lisbon, Portugal"

I'm skeptical about new brands, but if they make good racquets, people will eventually notice. So, I wish them well in their entrepreneurial adventure. Looks like the brand is also planning to produce shoes and strings

I also know Ricardo the founder of Dahcor but I didn’t know that he was the person behind this project. A friend showed me the website and after a few hours playing in the racket configurator I’ve decided to contact the company to know more about it. Curiosity I guess, but I’m an Angell Tc100 player and I was little bit nosy about the possibility of having other specs customized on my racket. Not only technically but also the design. Feedback was immediate and after a few mails exchanged I knew that everything was possible to do, from PJ (including my real signature or a personal design) to technical specs including stifness (any RA i request), balance and weight. After those conversations I’ve made a pre-order of 2 rackets and I was invited for a test 24h later. They just told me the tennis club, day and hour and only at that time I saw Ricardo and that’s when he told me that he was behind the all thing. I was completely surprised, first thing I asked him was to explain why Dahcor and he basically said it was most of his name backwards. “Da Rocha”, he just kept “Da” and then it was just a fusion of Da and Ahcor, Dahcor. For me and knowing the guy from practicing and tournaments, it all made sense. So it was about time to see the gear. He knew already my Angell racket so he brought a AK100s completely customized only for that experience/test and also a tube of some English balls they have. We hit for almost 2 hours and all I can say is that my experience was great. The racket (hybrid cosmetic) looked great with their ceramic varnish, sounded great, foam filled, great strings hybrid set up and I felt so good while playing that I’ve repeated the experience 3x times with him. We’ve talked for a couple of hours and from my understanding this project in a few months will have global physical distribution. I’ve told him about Angell and he told me only good things about it, but crazy or not he said that Dahcor will be closer to a big brand rather than a custom. I can’t say much about that only that I’m counting the days till getting my hands on my 2 sticks (one has smart sensor but both rackets are technically matched). All I can say is from my experience and if somehow you have some interest, contact them. I can give direct contact to the founder I’m sure I won’t mind. Cheers

Therefore Dahcore and Angell dont make their own racque. They design them and let them produce in Chinese factories. Really if you google wisely, you should find Chinese companies where you could do the same yourself.
I have nothing against boutique tennis brands, only the price puts me of. I have often taken leaps of faith by buying second hand racquets without trying them. But that was small money ;)

You should call him then. I know he will be in Portugal next week because I’ll practice with him next Tuesday. Regarding this Alibaba talk I believe some of you didn’t check the website. You should. I know for a fact that there’s some international known industry guys cooperating in the project, including engineers from Switzerland, Uk and Portugal. From my perspective and experience it might be slightly different from an alibaba cosmetic racket project... but as a tennis addicted as I am I’ve contacted them as I told you and feedback was great. And one thing we all agree for sure, we are already talking about something that will only start selling in January... so somehow it must be special...

As for why we are already talking about something that will only start selling in January, well that can be for a number of reasons like just curiosity but I wouldn’t say special, because it just can’t be for the time being…the brand is barely born, no products tested and reviewed yet by users, little to none feedback available…it’s impossible. Besides, Topspn has a point there… you have born to this forum only to praise the Brand and its products and even it was just out of excitement and for good reasons alone, one can doubt of your intentions. Whatever reason brought you here, I thank you for the feedback and info you gave and for me that’s good enough.

1st nothing fishy here as i can send print screens from my 1st contact and others with the Brand. 2nd As a tennis fanatic as I am what do you think it happened to me after knowing I was so close to the rackets and to the guy that is doing it? I’m excited just like I was before with other rackets, it’s simple as that. 3rd I have a google filter for Dahcor so yesterday I received the link and I have decided to share my experience and give some inside information. Nothing more. I believe just like Tennis should have new Brands also a Forum like this should have new members .And just so there are no more doughts I have been testing and playing with the raquets for 3 weeks now
