New Chris and Martina documentary coming to Netflix

their first meeting ever took place in my neck of the woods, in Akron, Ohio...

'Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova first played each other in the first round of an Akron, Ohio, women's professional tournament on March 22, 1973. Evert, then an 18-year-old rising star, defeated 16-year-old Navratilova 7-6, 6-3 in a hard-fought opening encounter.

That match marked the humble beginning of the most prolific rivalry in tennis history, which spanned 80 matches over 15 years.'

It's hard to imagine either of them dying when we still have Court and King. All four are all irreplaceable icons in tennis history without whom women's tennis as an international sport simply would not have flourished as it did through the 60's, 70's and 80's. Very strong shoulders on which the next generation stood.
So very true. Chris and MN have forged an amazing connection personally and professionally. Very eager to see this. I lived to watch them square off in so many matches!
