New Dunlop racquet line on the way - FX Force Series

They are running teasers for it on their social media and website as we speak. Will this be a new iteration of the former Force series? Now the have one line for control (CX), another for spin (SX) and now this one (FX) for pure power. I heard a rumor that there would be two new Dunlop lines released this year (this was before covid though) so what could that second one be?

One never knows...it could be awesome..
Sometimes history does repeat... just takes many many years to repeat with some manufacturers...MW300 and MW200..

Cool to see Dunlop making such an aggressive, extensive, and diverse foray into tennis equipment. Nice to see their racquet equipment footprint getting even larger.

Here they are

RA 70, definitely not my cup tea :cautious:

Btw, can these specs be correct:

FX 500 Tour: 305 g / 10.8 oz
FX 500: 320 g / 10.6 oz

The gram weight of the FX 500 must be incorrect? 10.6 oz corresponds to around 300 g and why would the Tour version be lighter.

That Explosive Bite string has not been released yet I guess? Absolutely nothing of it out there on the interwebs, at least in English.
I will give FX 500 Tour a try, though Babolat is definitely not my cup of tea in any sense.

In Japanese but you can get an idea from the pictures. Looks like a triangular poly with strange protrusions. Seems a bit like quirky.

I think I heard Babolat Pure Drive 1000 times in this review;). If we’ve learned anything in the past 15 years is that trying to copy the Pure Drive and be really successful is pretty futile. Wilson made a huge dent in the Pure Drive market by making something play similar but feel completely different (more comfortable), this was the Clash. Head is now doing it with the new Extremes and Yonex did with the 2020 EZONE.

I hit with the FX500 (10.6, 100sq in) this morning. Am currently using the 2015 pure drive and the fx500 felt dead in comparison. decent feel, decent dampening but nothing that blew my hair back. Didnt have the easy power i feel with the pure drive.

I felt the same way about the cx200 line. Good all around but nothing that stands out.

strung it at 46 lbs with a lively-ish poly. Rpm rough.

it's the fashion of PD like... ever more powerful, and rigid. it would not be a problem if their range of frames control were real controls. flexible, below 60RA, there we have 63-64-65-66RA, and even 71RA for the CX-400?

for me, the control frames are frames with a lot of flex, like prestige, ultra tour that are next to 60RA.

"The new FX series may have the power to destroy a wall but it's actually easy on your arm." - Dunlop Facebook

Can an RA of 70-71 ever be easy on any arm? If it can, I might still give the 500 Tour a chance.

It’s pretty clear that Dunlop is mirroring Babolat’s lineup with the SX and FX series. The CX series, however, is unique, more in the vein of the Pro Staff than the Pure Strike lineup. The CX was nice but I didn’t gel with it; the SX series I find to be pretty good. If I were into racquets like the Pure Drive then I would definitely give the FX a look.

I've looked at 2 other tennis outlet sites, and they both give the strung swing weight at 330 while TW shows 318? That's less than the static strung weight...what's up?

The CX is more classic ProStaff 6.1 90/95 than the current ProStaff line is.

Kind of a funny when Dunlop makes a better ProStaff than Wilson :p.

I'm not going to lie, I love the blue hints on the FX series, but the SX 300 Tour is the one if you want some weight without having to customize. I just received mine from TW about a week ago and it feels just right. I haven't had it measured, but to me it has just enough heft overall and towards the head of the racquet which is what I have been looking for. I think underrated, but this is a great stick to hit any shot that you desire. The only thing I can see being negative is if you are very hard hitter, long stroke player, you might have some control issues. But, if you're like me where you don't necessarily take huge cuts at the ball it feels great. I have mine strung with a full bed of the cheapy Head Velocity MLT 16 at 55. Great combo if you ask me, don't have to be a great player to enjoy this racquet. It does some of the work for you.
