Hi ! Do people have information or have tested the next Dunlop sx 300 which will be released in 2025?

might have to get the tour version for the paintjob alone (also as a hipster's pure aero 98). The 90s vibe is very strong with it

What has gotten into these designers lately? So far, for the 2025 refreshes, only the Gravity's are half-way decent. TFights, too barren. EZone, toy-ish. SX, non-complimentary colors. Radical, looks like salmon sushi.

Good lord. Can it get any worse?

Trip I like your takes but I really gotta know what your cosmetic preferences are -

Top three cosmetics in your opinion?

@bobeeto - I gotta admit, I'm a sucker for darker base colorways and full-glossy finishes. Some of my faves off the top of my head (I know it's more than 3):
- Babolat PSVS
- Yonex SV VCores
- Yonex 2017 VCore Pro (Blue/Red Dragon Skin)
- Wilson Ultra Pro v4
- 90's Prince CTS blended metallic gradients
- 90's Heads
- Auxetic 1.0 / 2.0 Prestiges
- 2021 CX 200 Black Limited Edition

The Babolat Pure Strike VS was the most beautiful racket I ever had, by miles! I'd put the Angell TC95 V3 (black and copper-throat) second.
The Head Prestige MP 2021 Aux 1.0 was also very elegant, but looking back at some of the earliest models, I think Head's cosmetics on the latest Prestiges undermines them a bit. Unless you're 1-2 meters near them, you can't tell what racket it is. Very elegant, but too stealthy to attract more recreational-level players (for example for the MP-L). A 360+ all red Prestige Mid 93 I briefly had looked much better.

As for Dunlop, the latest CX and SX cosmetics scheme does remind me of Head's Aux 2.0 scheme. I like the fact they moved away from the predominantly-yellow cosmetics.
On paper, it should be a straight-up competitor for the Head Extreme, that some youtubers have said underwhelming stuff about.

wild people think the ezone is ugly but love this somehow
for me it has this vibe and I am here for it

I also don't dislike the Ezone to be honest.

If you like black/dark racquets with simple paint jobs, then the SX 300 and new Ezone are not going to appeal to you. I wish I could get some hands on sales data on if the darker/simpler paint jobs sell better or worse than standard. I feel like manufacturers might think that it is harder to distinguish their brand and racquets from the competition, if they make their racquets too simple. New Ezone and SX 300 can be spotted a mile away that they are their respective racquets. Solinco Hyper-G used this as their advantage with their neon green string.

As @Trip just mentioned here the Prestiges...I think they don´t deserve the love for the design they really should get. Particularly the Aux 2.0 version looks stunning in person. I had a chance to hit with the MP this weekend and man I never thought of the Prestige as a great looking racquet until now. Not even mentioning how great was the experience during the gameplay...already had to buy a slightly use MP Aux 2.0 since it was sooo much fun playing it.

Good taste. All great picks!

I’m a sucker for anything that is heavy saturated blue/green. I’m in heaven recently :-D

Your wife and wallet are going to be happy too I guess :-D :-D
Her Black Friday shopping is still finding its way to our door, so I’m hopefully getting a pass for early 2025:laughing:

Hardest part is going to be deciding between
1. Ultra pro v4
2. Tecnifibre Tempo 298
3. Gravity pro 98
4. Dunlop SX tour
5. Babolat Pure Drive 98

so, this does look better than the ezone 98 imo but I’m still struggling to find a racquet that doesn’t (the highlighter red on the radical makes sense from a pattern perspective, at least). however, if they would’ve switched the blue for yellow I might be a good bit happier with this pj. I initially thought the new cx looked bad but it’s grown on me, I think this will follow that pattern of growing on me, unlike some racquets (cough cough yonex ezone cough cough tecnifibre tf40 cough cough), but I think PD takes best pj so far with how nicely simplistic it is

Light blue clearly seems to be trending in the tennis racquet industry. I don't think teal and yellow is an ideal combination but it's distinctive and that's something a manufacturer like Dunlop needs.

Fun fact : Nobody answered the op's question except for the color.
True...but so far I haven´t come across any pre-reviews or first impressions honestly. I know Tennisnerd is having them and testing but he has shown just the blacked out versions and not shared any significant information about it...

According to the video the new one will be even stiffer than the current. Not good.
1mm thicker grommet holes and that 45-degree-triangular grommet shape for the central mains, may have some "softening" effect. Don't know. Only, someone like Jonas who has played all previous models can comment about the stiffness etc.
RA rating alone doesn't say the full story. Could have a flexy throat and a stiffer hoop a la Gravity 98.

They posted on IG that both the throat and the hoop will be stiffer but that it should be fine due to the 38% additional dampening tech (lol). TBH I don't mind the way they dampen frames so looking forward to see how it plays but interesting how they aren't following the trends as all. Everyone else is dropping throat stiffness like crazy to hack RA and then people wonder when they keep seeing cracking in the throat.

I have possibly off topic question. But I played a few points with the racquet of my coach, which is a Dunlop Srixon Revo CV 3.0 F tour. I quite liked it. Is the SX line the successor of that one?

PD is pretty sick though, ngl

The cosmetics look incredible on a few instagram stories I saw under natural sunlight outdoors.

I've always said that product photoshooting has moved on to outdoor shooting. Those photos we see on all retailers are of obsolete technique.

the CV 3.0 F Tour is a great racquet, very forgiving for a 97" (I think Purcell plays with It while Draper uses the non Tour version, 100") the SX is the successor of the CV 3.0 (the yellow one) not F.
I still prefer the F Tour over the latest SX 300 Tour (2022), somehow more in the direction of the PA98, with better feel (It's thinner compared to the latest sx300 tours).

All they need to do is tighten up the string pattern and make it more uniform (just copy the Speed MP or Pure Drive).

I understand 2025 sx300 will have higher torsional stability. Does not that increase contradict with spin potential?
Sounds like they are trying to merge FX and SX. (Or PD and PA)
Am I missing something..?

The CV 3.0 F Tour is the stiffest Dunlop ever. Though it's not a real Dunlop but a Srixon, but since Srixon had just acquired Dunlop, they used the Dunlop brand on this last line of Srixon racquets.

I think It's very forgiving for a 97", I don't have any problem when I play with It strung with Explosive Spin, I don't know It's Dynamic RA but my arm feels as It Is very close to the DRA of the Pure Aero VS (PA98 is softer IMO).
