nexiga is soft tennis rackets and it's in red color.
I am pretty sure that those pink rackets are S-fit radia.
A little surprised that Yonex is advertising the new Ezone DR with Krygios instead of Anna...

Popularity of Kyrgios is sky rocketing the last year....

Rumor has it his EZONE Ai is actually an EZONE Xi variant under the Ai paintjob. If I had to guess, this is the next generation EZONE Xi 98, probably with the more traditional, square-ish isometric shape the Xi had than the more rounded-tip Ai.

Why did they go away from the square shape anyways?
Also when is the approximate release date?

Probably minor change. Similar to Vcore XI98 to SI98. Yonex added spin impulse technology but racket was similar to previous version.
sometimes Yonex release completely different racket but there is no reason to change current AI98 completely for new Ezone DR.

From that poster pic, Ezone DR shape is more rounded like Ai98 rather than the old Xi 98. To my eyes anyway. I hope Yonex does not change the spec too much from the Ai98 with the update.

Given the success / popularity of the EZONE Ai series, and the number of models that Yonex has in place at any given time, I doubt the Ai will go away, or be radically changed, any time soon.

I'm still thinking the EZONE DR is the successor to the EZONE Xi series. Especially in light of Kyrgios being the face of the DR, and him using the EZXi under the EZAi paint.

There'll probably be both 98 and 100 versions of the EZDR.

According to the international color advisory board, green, orange, and red, particularly in neon, against a black contrasting background, will be the current fashion trend for the next season or three.

It's going to have to be quite a stick to get me to upgrade on my Ai 100s.

As for the Dynamic Revulsion name, it sounds like absolutely perfect technology for Kyrgios. I wouldn't be surprised if within the next 2 years he gets dropped by Yonex as a result of his abysmal on court behaviour. The Japanese don't like disrespect!

I read at some point that Kyrgios is the highest paid tennis sponsor pro for yonex, even more than Stan. I don't see any reason yonex would drop him.

Well, there are different types of contracts, obviously. Some may have lower standard pay, but higher performance bonuses / incentives. I'd guess that's the type that Wawrinka has, given his age, career to date, etc.

Young guns like Kyrgios and Coric probably have the opposite type of contract to Stan's.

I might move to the DR100 on this update. I like the ai98, but I've been looking to switch to the ai100 anyway. We shall see!

Looking forward to these coming out so I can pick up a few more Ai98's on sale.:D

But seriously, might give these a demo if it is somewhere between an XI and AI spec wise.

What gives you that idea ?

Look how many models they carry in the VCore line...not unusual for them to have multiple variants in the same category.

The EZAi is pretty popular, so don't mess with a formula that works, and more importantly, sells.

But the Ezon Ai is successor of Xi, isn't it ?

Not necessarily, and difficult to say for sure, unless you have inside info from Yonex's brand & product managers.

They use different molds between the EZXI and EZAi, with the Xi being more square, the Ai having a more rounded hoop.

Also tough to tell on these pics...to my eye, DR looks more like the Xi shape, but with the angle it's presented, it's a toss-up. I'm looking at my EZXi98 against these pictures, and it looks like the same mold.

I think the Ai will go away... but then again, the popular, original VCTs haven't gone away and remain alongside the G and F.

Not always. Look how Head has been changing their highly successful Prestige line.

I can't see Yonex doing away with such a popular line after only 1 iteration. Change it maybe, but not do away with. This new line might be their update to the Ai.

Yonex doesn't actually list the red vcore tours on their site anymore. I think the tour f's were suppose to be their successor.

Theoretically accurate, but the Prestige isn't as popular as it used to be, and the game has changed, so they're throwing anything against the wall, in hopes it'll stick...heritage and previous popularity be damned.

The 100 version isn't 16x18, like my beloved Ezone Xi 100 :(

Also, the throat (I think that's the proper name of that part?) doesn't seem nearly as thick as either the Ai or Xi 100's. Those rackets seemed to almost be as thick as an APD...

Perhaps Yonex is moving away from that... oh well... TW is sold out of Ezone Xi 100's. I have 2 -- maybe I'll pick up some more while they're still around.

Just got the Ai98 few days ago and it's been a really good hitting racquet. Love it!
And I'm patiently waiting to get the new DR. I'm pretty into Yonex racquets lately. Thumb up for their work.

Not sure if it is a mistake but from pic posted with the spec and my limited Kanji , DR100 is potentially a little bit more flexible than DR98 in feel by looking at the location of the arrow on the feel/flexibility scale ( grey bar side is firm = 硬, white bar side is soft = 柔) That's the opposite of Ai 98/100 series. Also these will be made in China ( 中国製).
