New Graphene Radicals/Prestiges for 2014

Cuing the Intelligence series much?

when I look at this PJ the only thing that comes in my mind is : MIAMI VICE, or any other movie banner designed in the 80's. indeed, RADICAL design.

Are the prestiges spy photos coming up soon? does anyone have such thing?

At the Roger's cup in Montreal I saw Andy Murray walk out on centre court for a practice session with what I thought was his old i.Radical in hand. I thought it was strange. He had 2 frames in his hand as well as his bag on his shoulder. He ended up not using the frame in question. Seeing the new design, it was obviously the new radical or his current frame with updated cosmetics.

wow pics deleted without a trace...how despotic

:-)
HEAD really needs a new Marketeer/communitymanager.
Look at BMW. do you really think they dislike it when pictures of their new models leak? No ofcourse not they like it and "accidently" leak themselves. Why? Because that way your customers desires the new frame even before it comes to the market. Alle the duscussions about uggly, pretty, good or bad are done before you want to start selling. People get used to your new design. They have to wait until it comes and their desire grows every day. The minute the new model comes to the market many customers run to the dealers.
But i guess that is not what HEAD wants. No instead all these forums are a ******. Delete everything.
You know what MINI does with forum like these? They participate. And a month before the market introduction they give a vip intro for members of that forum. Now that is marketing at almost no costs. Get people to start talking about your new product. Oh not that is not what you should want.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and although I preferred the understated look of the youtek, it is better that most of their paintjobs and may look better when viewed properly.

This must have something to do with Murray using the i-radical paintjob for so long. Maybe he suggested it, or someone from HEAD took it as "inspiration".

Personally I like the new paintjob. As I said in the thread that was deleted, I've been waiting for Head to do with Radicals and Prestiges what they did when with the Speeds and Extremes when the IG models first came out with black being the more dominant color. And yeah it does remind me of the iRadical paintjob too.

Interesting that it was stated no 18x20's but the bridge still has 4 string holes. Find it hard to believe they would stray away completely from 18x20.

Got the pictures a few days ago and I thought the frames didn't look that great. Was at my local tennis shop earlier today talking about it.

The owner said he had the graphene radical and brought it out to show me and his head rep happened to be at the store at the time (not sure if he dropped off the frame today, if so lucky timing)

It looks a lot better in person than in the pictures. Definitely reminds me of the i.Radical. The paintjob might grow on me as time goes on more since I still like the IG paintjob more at the moment, but yeah, it changed my mind from "ugly" to "not bad/ okay"

Could you tell if the grip shape changed, or is it still the rectangular shape?

I think they're still using the new TK82S (resembles Wilson). Head dropped the rectangular since the Youtek generation.

Are you sure about this? The IG Prestige and Radicals I had, used the TK82 (rectangular) pallet . I am pretty sure the TK82S was designed for the Speed line.

These racquets will be must-haves! Head is not stupid,
...if they made the racquet that ugly they must be confident that it will be the best feeling and performing racquet ever. That thing must play by itself!

Haha, that's brilliant!
- I have to admit, I never like most of their PJs at first, but then they grow on me. Now I'm really digging the Prestige and Radical Microgel PJ, and the IG ain't too shabby, either - Prestige with black CAP grommets and a black replacement grip is realllllly cool-looking!

Intriguing PJ. Not a fan, but I can see what they were trying to do. I was one of the few who actually liked the IG PJs when they first came out lol..

I didn't pay much attention to the grip shape. Sorry. I was mainly paying attention to the paintjob.

I think its the synthetic leather grip as stock again :( I hope to be proved wrong.

Too bad, like OP stated, optional cap grommets so Pro doesn't come with CAP grommets standard. Also, yes, new mold from those who have seen the pictures. Didn't delve too much about it since I couldn't stay for too long. Definitely looking forward to trying it out tho.

For those who want a clearer picture, search "Tennis Pro Express" on Facebook. They have pictures of the new prestige and radicals. The new prestige has a red cap grommet and is predominately black/red. It looks REALLY NICE

Only the Graphene Prestige MP will keep the old mold, so you won't be able to correctly fit the old CAP grommets on the other models.
But does the mold of the new Prestige Graphene Pro actually resemble the current Prestige IG S???

The Graphene Radical paintjob does not look good.. the Prestige much better and red CAPS is interesting, would not mind putting it on the anniversary Prestige MP to see how it looks like.:)

Prestige cosmetics look strangely similar to the new Babolat Storm line as well..

First the end of the PC600 mold on the mid, then this horrendous paintjob.
They murderer the prestige line. RIP prestige!

I guess they're just rolling with the business. Wonder how the sales went / are going for the Prestige Mid. Apparently not well enough to keep it in the line-up.
Why is that the case? - A 18x20 pattern in a 580 squin racket is probably too hard to play with for too many potential customers. Not that there are still some enthusiasts, but they're just too few.
They now have the MP as the "true" Prestige. Which also kind of explains why they made it the 25th anniversary edition. After all, if the anniversary ed. should have been the original, there wouldn't have been any way around the Mid.
So the YTIG Mid will be the last Prestige to represent the original mold.

It's sort of 1990's colors IMO. Would look good walking out onto the court with a new pair of Nike Air Tech Challenge Huarache shoes. Some cut off shorts would be nice too.

So, Gilles Simon is the new face of the Prestige lineup, eh? I'd have preferred Tommy Haas, even if he is long in the tooth.

I'd have expected them to be more like the Graphene Prestige Pwr...now, having seen the teaser pics, I'm kind of wishing they were.

They're expensive as hell and the price is always closer to 200€ in Europe and you can't get quantity discount. I'm here talking but i wouldn't buy one if unless i could afford gut.

I think the same way. It's sad they picked the pusher instead of the all-courter. HEAD is just disgusting me right now...
Even if Haas retired tomorrow it would be a nice opportunity to stick his image HEAD forever (even if he played almost the entire career with Dunlop).

So... why were they flying off the self in the olden days? Is it because kids nowadays is all about POWER POWER AND MOAR POWER, and they don't care about timing and good technique?

Any of us who play (or played with one for extended amount of time) know Prestige Mid is a wonderful racquet. And if you've got the strokes, it's just like any other racquets.

I would not make those assumptions. TW is already almost all sold out of the IG Prestige Mid. They have 6 racquets left.

They have a kiind of 90's look to them. I like it. It is a good change from the silly paint jobs of other companies. God forbid a bit of boldness right?
