New Graphene Radicals/Prestiges for 2014

Anyone actually hit the new Graphene Prestige's yet?

Would love to hear they feel compared to the IG line.

Much softer flex and feel. A really REALLY good update. The MP feels like a tad lighter and slightly stiffer PT630.

But the biggest thing will be the Rev Pro. THAT will be a big surprise for many when they hit with it the first time. It will be "the racquet" that everyone on TT talks about

Thanks Hankenstein.

Sounds very impressive RE: the MP.

I thought the REV Pro should be awesome if it had the feel of the IG Mid with a 16 x 19 pattern. The 16 x 19 for a Mid frame is ideal and should also help soften up the feel and improve overall pop.

What stood out about the REV Pro? You seem very impressed with the frame.

Did you also have a hit with new Prestige Pro? , curious how that compares to the IG Prestige PRO. I preferred the MP over the PRO with the IG line.

Have you hit with the Technifiber 315 Ltd frames? If so, how do the new Prestige lines compare in overall feel & performance?

Really looking forward to getting my hands on the Graphene Prestige line.

Since you hit with it, can you provide us some feedback on how it compares against the Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT and the Head Graphene Speed Pro?

Biggest change to Radicals - New mold, no 18x20 patterns, all 16x19, and Optional cap grommets.
Radical Pro - 98 head size, 10.9oz weight. 20/23/21mm beam. optional cap grommets
Radical MP - 98 head size, 10.4oz weight. 20/23/21mm beam. optional cap grommets
Radical Rev - 98 head size, 9.2oz weight. 20/23/21mm beam. optional cap grommets
Radical S - 102 Head Size, 10oz weight

Is this reallt true? Can anyone confirm that the Radical MP will now be 16x19?

The only 18x20 in the new Radical or Prestige line will be the Prestige MP....all of the other new Prestiges and Radicals will be 16x19 patterns. +1 for the new Prestige Rev Pro (93)...really a nice hit, more forgiving with the 16x19 pattern and pretty good plow for a static weight (strung) in the low 11's ......this one appears to be a little larger in the hoop compared to the past Presitge Mids which are actually closer to 90 sq in.

So is the Rev Pro a softer racquet compared to the IG line? Just curious, since the radical graphene's are much stiffer.

Did you feel the rev pro is softer or stiffer compared to the ig prestige mid?

My recollection is that it had a similar flex.......maybe a tad firmer (62-64 RA ?)......but still very comfortable. It's hard to really say without measuring the RA; much of the comfort may be due to the more open string pattern because this one was strung fairly tight (54 lbs cp) with 16g Duraflex.

How does it compare to the Tfight 315 ltd? Sounds close. It would be nice if Head nailed it this time.

I'm interested in the CAP grommets on the Radicals - how they change the weight, SW and balance.

Sorry to say, but I have never tried the 315 ltd. Tecnifibre is not available in Sweden so I have not got the opportunity to test-play it

All I can say is that this is the best Prestige since i.Prestige and we all know what the pro-players think about that frame =) (TK57E)

22mm beam on the new prestige pro.....

How do you know it's 22mm and not 21mm like it is now?

And from the pictures, it's still 16x19, so why do you think that the old (black) grommets won't fit anymore?

I posted on Twitter 2 photos of Head Graphene Prestige Pro, and I got a message from Head Tennis asking me to take down the photos, because it will launch in 2014 and they don't want "consumers" (sounds like zombies  ) seeing yet.

I think I will though, even if I don't have many followers and the photos are not that exposed.

Because its a new mold for the Graphene Prestige Pro and its now 22mm. The Graphene Prestige Pro and Graphene Prestige S are now the same mold. The only mold they did not mess with is the Graphene Prestige MP.

I still think the increased beamwidth to 22mm is just to give extra room for the big HEAD branding on the side of the frame. They get thicker every year. Is there an engineering and structural reason why it has to be SO thick??

Nooooo...so the Pro will have the same shape as the actual IG Prestige S has...Nooooo...

The new 93" will have the same shape as MP I guess...or the same as S?

For this one, I won't remove the photos from Twitter, and I'll keep playing with YPP and instead of the new Prestiges, I'll maybe get some Yonex 95D/97D, or some IG Prestige Pro and change the grommets.

Not a fan of how much HEAD have changed so much with the molds. Hopefully they make up for it by the MP and Mid kicking ***. Still can't believe Prestige Mid 18 x 20 is no more.

wonder if there will be a mad dash for the current prestige mids since they will be the last 18x20 version for now

cant imagine that change will last long

**** I just bought a G Speed Pro but was doubting between the radical.

now that they updated I, sorry to say, hope that the new line doesn't rock the world of the G Speed because I spend months figuring out which racket to buy.

G Speed Pro 4 life! :p

When in 2014 will these new Radicals be available? Any estimate on the month?

After they sent me the message asking me to take down the pictures, I think it would be really rude of me to ask them the exact date, keeping in mind that the pictures are still there

Prestige Pro doesn't concerns me anymore, after thay made it like the Prestige S...with MP, I don't play because the dense string bed...so good bye new Prestiges, hello Youtek or IG...or Yonex.

I think it's smart for Head to make these Radicals and Prestiges a little more accesible for the masses. After all, it's mostly 3.0-4.0 tennis players out there buying the majority of the racquets and the Pro's get their's custom made anyway.

Demo'd the Graphene Prestige S for the first time last night. Haven't had much experience with the Prestige line. Tried the IS Prestige S once before, so I can't do any real comparison between the former model.

Was a fun stick to play with. Had nice pop and pretty comfortable. Felt a little light maybe; I think that's just me not used to the stick?

I like the paintjob in person more than in the pictures; curious how it would look with black CAPs. Probably a customization a lot of people are looking to do if they buy the new Prestige line.

Pro's dont get custom made racquets. They get hairpins customized.

Saw a guy hit with a new radical pj yesterday. But,it was more in the shape of a instinct and his second racket was an instinct...

does anyone know the release for the graphene prestige? the previous posts have different opinions, wanted to know if someone really knows.

The prestige line won't appear this year.

Head asked me on twitter to remove the photos with the racquet because it won't be released until 2014 and they don't want consumers to see the photos yet.

Actually this happened every year in January, before aussie open.

Maybe Head will still change the fugly paint job of the Prestiges ;)
Seriously, make the red a little bit more understated...
Although after seeing some scans of the upcoming catalogue, the pj shown on the leaked pics seems fixed.

Thicker frames are stiffer.

I will wait to see how the MP is.

The paintjob, as it is now, looks ugly.

I like the black throat and white decals, though.

I think that with black grommets would look better, but I don't like the big Head letters...I liked how they were right in the middle of the head, on Youtek or IG.

I also don't like the red stripe inside the throat and the grey one inside the head.

The only 18x20 that I played with, were Head Prestige Tour 630 and MG MP.
I liked MG MP, very good control and power, I liked very much for serves, returns and volleys, but had zero spin. That's why I got Youtek PROs.

Maybe the new Graphene Prestige MP will be better, and won't be that ugly with black grommets.
