New Graphene Radicals/Prestiges for 2014

I just got my hands on the Prestige Rev Pro, MP and Pro yesterday. I had a short hit with all three and found the feel to be different than my IG Mid. Not to say I did not like them but they just have a different feel. Part of that could be the strings that are in them vs my normal set up. A couple of thoughts after my hit.
Cosmetics - Interesting color red for the grommets but not terrible, I like the look of the sticks.
Rev Pro - Initially my favorite of the bunch, I can create more spin on groundies and my serve as I felt like I could still swing out and keep the ball in play. Felt like I have a little more pop with this one compared to mine. Also felt solid on volleys. By the way head size is larger than the IG Mid.
MP - Probably my second favorite as I have been toying with the idea of going to a lager head size and eagerly awaiting the release of this line. Did not again in a short time with them feel like I could get as much spin but a very nice feel with this racket all the way around.
Pro - I did not wrap the grip before I went out as I like an overgrip (Yonex Super Grap-awesome) and do not care for the leather grip. Need to give this one another try but did not care for it, again did not really give it a fair go.

As a point of reference I am rated 4.5 that likes to play an aggressive ground-stroke game with a big first serve and kick second. Sorry I am not as versed as others in providing feedback as I just know what I like and what I don't like. Going out the next three days with these babies to hit and looking forward to it. I think Head will do very well these sticks!

I'm using the Ig Prestige Mid too, at the moment
any other impression comparing it to the Rev pro?
thanks

Day 2 was yesterday hitting with the three rackets and here is the skinny.

The Prestige Rev Pro definitely felt lighter to me on the second hit. I still feel like I can generate more spin and it is a tad less demanding. At this point if this racket hits my bag it will need some lead tape. Again the feel is much different from the IG Mid, not bad just not that same "Prestige" feel.

The Prestige MP was being hit by my buddy and he really liked it. After Day 1 and a brief moment with it yesterday it feels the most "Prestige" like of the three. Observations on my hitting partner he was very solid with it, generated nice spin and had more pop on his serve.

The Prestige Pro really felt heavy in my hand. I tried it a couple of times and the weight of the rackets "feel" in my hand was not to my liking. I do not see this as being a choice for me which is a bit of surprise as I almost went with the Youtek version of this racket prior to going with the Mid. It feels much heavier than my IG Mid and that is 12.4 oz with my set up.

Again I am doing my best to give you some thoughts from my perspective. Give them a go they are all worth it.

I switched from the Dunlop 4D ag100s to the IG Prestige Mids in early 2012, in order to have more strings and weight to rely on and my game has improved a lot since then
So I suspect switching to the Rev Pro could represent a step back (to the previous set up) for me

Playing with radical OS since 17 years...
No more Oversize...end of an era.
Very disappointed with Head's choice...I'll consider leaving the brand and getting some Babolat or Technifibre racquet! Poor me!!!

The grommets in red are a terrible choice, it's just tacky looking in my opinion. Same goes for the gold grommets on the Donnay gold, they look cheap.

Yeessh - It puts the lead on

Hey at least OS frames are still readily available with tons of (other) options. They killed the mid and now there only a handful of frames to choose from.

Just hit with the MP today for the first time. Definitely felt different than the IG and they seemed to have changed the length of the grip back to what it was before the IG model. Not a huge fan of that change to be honest. The racquet looks quite nice though and was great to hit with.

Not feeling the new Radical paint job at all, looks 80's to me. The new Prestige paint job on the other hand...looks aweseome.

I just got my Premier Tour 600 out of storage and I compared the Graphite Tour 600 to the photos of Graphene Prestige Rev Pro. I think form the photos that the Premier Tour 600 Mold is most similar to the Graphene Prestige Rev Pro. From only looking at the photos and comparing it to the Premier Tour 600 in hand.

Are these Radical graphenes replacing the Ig radicals or are they a seperate line all together?

Thanks
Yes this is the newest line of Radicals replacing the Youtek IG line.

Tried the Prestige S and Radical Pro. Both were fun. G.Radical Pro definitely feels stiffer than the IG PRO.

Prestige S was pretty fun; first time using a prestige so can't do a comparison. Just little bit light for me coming from the 6.1s but a fun hit nonetheless.

Thanks for the response. I like softness/flex of the ig radical. Not sure I will like the stiffer graphene. Will have to try it or start stocking up on some ig radical pros.

Radicals are already available for pre-order in TW Europe too. Radical pro has a flex of 68 RA and a swingweight of 326 according to them.

QUESTION:

There now are:

- Head Youtek IG Prestige Ltd. Edtion
- Head Youtek Graphene Speed Pro Ltd. Edition

Very nice black looking editions of these rackets in my opinion.

Does anyone know if there will be a Ltd. Edition of the IG Radical too?

Seems like Radical S with 102 sq in. head is the new Radical OS replacement.

Pretty interested to try the G. Radical MP when I get a chance.

MP sounds like a demo for me. I want to see how it plays compared to my Tfight 315. It should be easy to lead up as well.

I think a leather grip with about 5 grams of lead at 12 plus OG and dampener and it should be rocking.

Of course, thers is the possibility of optional caps I think correct? I have no idea how much that would affect the specs.

IG PP vs G PP

Currently i am using IG PP and i am addicted to its stability and control.
However, the G PP has thicker bean and lighter weight.
How does it compare to the IG PP?
Seems Head is going to replace all the control rackets to tweener rackets. :-?

No. I am good with the Tfight. Just wanted to demo a new Rad and see how it compares if I get a chance to.

I just thought I read the Rads had optional CAPs but I may have just imagined it.

Not many new sticks are interesting me in a demo. Rad MP and maybe the Pure Control, but the Tfight is my GOAT for sure still. Not sure if that will change anytime soon.

Hmm, not sure about the optional CAPS, maybe.

If you demo, be sure to post up your thoughts compared to the 315

Thanks.

all of the new radical line will have optional cap system grommets

How will 'optional' CAP grommets work??

They alter the Weight/ Balance/ SW of the frame significantly, so struggling to understand unless different model completely.......

Not fan of previous Radicals, but new Pro specs look near PERFECT--- lower Stiffness resulted in 'weird' feel for me & just seemed like PRO specs suited to higher RA........

Anyone able to weigh in on either comment-- how CAPs will be 'optional' & Rad Pro playtest feedback??

Thanks

Well what I believe is going to happen, is that they are making cap grommets an option for all the radicals. For example, the radical MP will come "stock" with regular grommets, but you will be able to purchase cap grommets that fit the frame after the fact if you wish.
