New Head Instincts 2025

So, the release/leaks/hype of these flew completely under the radar (makes sense though, being the Instinct line)... but these paintjobs are looking CLEAN. Love the colors that HEAD chose. A soft baby blue paired with black and orange-red neon accents. With the styling/pattern of the Speed MP 2022.

I guess Instinct is kind of the last on the refresh cycle, since the lettering style and technology is Auxetic 1.0.

At $170 for the Instinct MP though, this is an interesting business strategy/experiment for HEAD. Curious to see how it plays.

Interesting they have a 100 sq inch headsize. this is basically getting the same treatment as wilson burn!
I believe the Instinct MP has always had a 100 sq inch headsize. I think people have said that the Instinct is focused on power -- I demoed the previous Instinct MP and that thing was a lightweight canon.

The MP actually sounds interesting like it could be a bargain PD. It's a shame these models never get reviewed.

Wonder what $100 of “technology and materials” is missing from this frame. They are selling this for that much less than their other silos, but they claim it has Auxetic. Maybe someone can explain?

The Graphene 360+ Instinct (announced Oct 2020, but labeled 2021?) did get some reviews, but then HEAD just simply refreshed the paintjob for 2022 with dark blue, so I guess it kind of just fell off the radar because it was the same racquet with just a different cosmetic.

I mean, the Auxetic 1.0 Speed MP 2022 was selling this past fall (and still selling at some places) for $150. Granted, it's an "older" model, but the paintjob still is in use by Jannik Sinner so theoretically HEAD could still keep selling an Auxetic 1.0 racquet at $150.

But to your point, I do wonder what kind of profit margins they are making with these Auxetic 1.0 racquets.

yup, they have. I guess Im just surprised they still offer an option that could be used by a competitive player

i figured they would all be 105+

you'd be surprised. when I've looked up some of the names of these Futures and Challengers players some of the guys I'm following are competing against, some Indian guys really like the Instinct

What’s interesting about the Instinct is that it’s the only power-tweener left with 8T, 8H mains skip and dense string pattern, like the older Pure Drives.

The previous Head Instinct MP I think was reviewed positively. I recall that for Example TennisNerd though highly of the racquet. It has very typical "tweener" specs with 23-26-23 m beam which is like Pure Drive, Ezone 100 etc. The Instinct MP has a lower flex though.

Interesting that Head is not pushing this line at all ever since the Boom was released. I always thought that Head was missing a Pure Drive alternative. All other companies seem to have one option in this segment, Wilson Ultra 100, Ezone 100, Pure Drive etc.

It just seems like the Ezone is the only racquet that's been able to compete with the Pure Drive on sales and maybe Head just decided the Boom would separate more with it's unique head shape. As with the Wilson Burn, it seems like Head has decided to not really promote this frame despite the fact that it seems to be a pretty solid performer and great value for the money.

I am curious about which racquet types makes the most money for the manufacturers.

+310g, 95-98 in, player racquets
305g, 98 in, player racquets (Blade 98 etc)
300g , 100 in, tweeners (Pure Drive etc)
285g, 100 in, “Team” or L racquets
270-285g, Ultra light racquets

Seems most reviews are for 295-310g racquet. Curious though if these are also where the money is ? Which types racquets generate the biggest profits ?

I always assumed that Pure Aero type racquets, approx 300g, are which sells the most. But could be my assumption is completely wrong ?

There must be some reason why a company like Head is not pushing a “tweener” racquet ? Personally I don’t think the Boom MP plays at all like the Pure Drive or Ezone 100 for example. It is more like a Clash alternative.

I tried the previous model and it didn't seem a drop in quality to other head rackets I've tried.
