ITs an awesome racquet. Played with it, going to be a pretty popular racquet with advanced players once it drops. Pinpoint control and great feel. Swings easy as well.

Sorry but I'll believe it when I'll demo this stick... Babolats are known for their lack of feel and their muted response... they make good baseliner bashers sticks but when it comes to finesse all-court game or serve&volley they are light years behind other manufacturers like Wilson, Head, Dunlop just to name a few...

Im not saying it has the best feel in the market but its thinner beam and 95 headsize and very stable feel made this racquet have really great feel. I used to play with a 6.0 85 and the feel was as good as a k90. It definitely doesnt feel like a babolat frame. Very very solid hit not tinny or hollow at all. It swings so well too. Im calliong it now this racquet is going to be a hit.

A lot of rackets are entering prestige MP territory. Very interesting...there are now 4 18x20's offered by Wilson in varying weights, 3 from HEAD in varying weights and head sizes, and 2 from Prince. Of course that is just the big 3, there are a number of other smaller companies out there offering 18x20's as well.

Now Babolat has been added to the mix. I did not enjoy the pure storm/control line...but with a 19 mm beam this racket is going to have a less boxy bulky feel which should give it some nice flex characteristics. The weight range is also quite good, and can be easily modified for those who want heavier a heavier stick. I would add a leather grip which would push the weight over 12 oz...and then a few strips at 3 and 9.

It is essentially my k95 18x20 with a thinner beam...

THE KING (PT630) IS ALWAYS FOLLOWED,COPIED AND IMITATED.:)

There has been so many clones, I have the babolat pure storm limited on me right now and it says 21mm even though it feels thinner will post a review tomorrow

Any more reviews of this racquet coming out? I am very interested in how people thought this stick played. I have never used a Babolat before, but these specs seem to fit what I am looking for.

I think you are quite right...and for me some of the clones/copies have played very well. I just received a couple of Volkl Classic 7 Pro's from Japan. The C7 seems to be Volkl's spin on the PT (98 sq. inch, 21 mm beam, 18x20, low 60's flex, similar weight etc...)

I love the C7, it has beautiful feel, touch, stability, adequate spin for an advanced player etc...I dont know if you ever had the chance to hit with it, but I think you would enjoy it, although I know it would not replace your PT's/

After years of demoing, I have returned to the racket I hit with in high school...I just have not found anything better.

I am a bit sad they decided to go with the 21 mm beam, but I will certainly demo the PSL.

Looking forward to your extended review as well.

Thanks for the review. I like hearing that the racquet has some pop to it off the 18 X 20 string bed. Sounds like a racquet I need to try out.

not sure if I did, post a picture, I did have an old volkl classic that was 18X20 but sold it, might have been black with red, they were impossible to find back then, you got the last two in the world

I think you did actually have it, it is black and maroonish red with a bit of yellow in there as well.

I searched for this racket for years, and one day I was googling and store in Japan had 2 brand new ones in a 3/8 grip size. It took a lot of time and energy to get them here, but they did with the help of a fellow poster (onkystomper). I owe him for his efforts.

They literally might be the last brand new C7's available, unless Volkl has some stock in their factory somewhere.

Based on specs, the Pure Storm Limited looks nearly perfect (though the flex could be slightly lower), as long as the SW is no higher than 322 (for those who want to modify).

But, specs are specs. I'm interested in demoing this racquet, and the last thing I need is another racquet that I'm interested in.

VERY smart move by Babolat. They are filling in their offerings for players who want true players sticks instead of the Pure Drive, etc. offerings. The biggest departure isn't so much the weight (the Pure Drive Roddick is the same weight), but the 18X20 pattern and the thin, straight beam.

in tennis magazine there is an ad for tennis warehouse and i believe it has the pure storm limited and the aerostorm tour along with the aerostorm on it

April 22 is the arrival date. I saw one today. Nice leather grip. Thin beam. 95" head. 18 mains. Nice feeling stick. Didn't get to play with it but bounced a ball around for a bit and it really was solid. i was impressed.

Hey this thing had a wierd head shape - egg like, reminded me of the old volkl look. The local pro said the head was designed to add lead to the tip - it was marked as such, and it was a great frame.

A babolat with wilson or head feel? cool :)

Hit with the ltd that a pro had today: pretty good off the ground, then I tried volleys and the racquet was nearly knocked out of my hand!

Maybe it was crappy old/too tight poly strings? Might try again another time but I had to hit seriously with a guy and after a few more hits he starting getting pissed when my ball barely made it to the service line on my coaching volleys, so I switched back to my stick: I use a k90.

It was a brief hit but it reminded me of a pure storm. We will see when the real demo's are distributed. Going to try the aerostorm (tour) and pure storm tour, looking for a s&v stick, more forgiving and powerful than my trusty k90. :(

should be here soon.....

I would hardly call that a preview since there was no new information given, heck I know more about than that from tinkering with it off the demo rack at the local tennis shop. The specs were released months ago.

Again... since the racquet has not hit North America for sales, that is all the information Babolat wants to the public to have. I understand that many posters here are sponsered by Babolat, have a shop or know someone who does. Therefore they will have more info/less info etc. No need to bash a post that is merely put up to convey info.

Dang, still waiting for this stick. The local pro volunteered to let me use his sticks again. I hit with one of his before and posted here. These were newly strung, so I expected an improvement. tension with poly read 68# - no wonder I had depth problems. One other one was at 62# and I tried it.

Overall a lot like the older babolat zylon sticks, or whatever those were, from years ago. Kind of light feeling but pleasant.

I would string mine in low 50s so comparison was still tough but it still had better feel than the storm tour for me.

It twisted a bit which i didn't like, but strings matter.

Still waiting :)
