Coach Carter
Rookie
Point University in West Point, GA (just southwest of Atlanta, on the Georgia - Alabama line) is starting both men's and women's NAIA programs for the 2013-14 school year. Point will be joining the Appalachian Athletic Conference and also taking part in NCCAA competitions to offer students more opportunities for national championships. It's an exciting time for university and for the athletic department. Point has been around since 1937, originally known as Atlanta Christian College...it has a cool story.
I had been out of coaching for a couple years and when I saw the opening and did some research on the school, I was very interested immediately and felt like this was the place I was being drawn to coach again. -- www.point.edu
Some of you know me (Doug Carter), some do not. I built a successful program at LeTourneau University (D3) in Texas. I hope to build a very good program at Point that the school and community can be proud of. I will be on campus by next weekend (April 20th). Like all coaches, I am looking for players (guys and girls). Especially early on, I need your eyes, ears, and wisdom on players looking for an opportunity. I have always put together large schedules and fun teams that work hard, play hard and are close knit, "family units".
Point is a private, Christian university...though being private...it's a bargain at $23,600 total sticker price!!! There are academic, merit, athletic, and many types of financial aid and scholarships available to quality students.
I'm a regular guy...if you know talented players interested in playing...I want to hear about them (email me). My email is: dougcarterjr@yahoo.com and doug.carter@point.edu --- thank you in advance, I appreciate your help.
GO SKYHAWKS!!!
