NEW Nike RF hat

I just noticed today that Nike has updated the RF hat to RF Classic hat. They claim it is built on the Nike Classic 99 hat. Can anyone offer a comparison to the old RF hat? They are my favorite hats, hope the fit didn't change too much!

I can't speak to the new classic 99. Just looked it up and apparently the classic 99 is rooted in golf, where it has had some tremendous success over the years.

They've gone with different styles before, but the classic 99 is seemingly replacing the first RF hat iteration below:

The only difference I can tell between the CLASSIC99 and the LEGACY91 (previous RF hat) is the brim.

The brim on the new CLASSIC99 is not the same thickness throughout the entire brim. There is basically an "outer brim", which is firm, and then an "inner brim" which has less material and is less firm. As a result, the brim overall feels "flimsier", but in practice the brim will probably still stay as curved as you want it to be.

Cosmetically, or on your head it's not noticeable as far as I can tell, but I do prefer the LEGACY91 style where the brim has a uniform thickness and firmness because that is how every hat I have ever worn has been. I have never seen this particular brim technique used in a baseball style cap.

When I got the hat, I assumed it was a either a way to save costs on Nike's part, or perhaps a way to make the hat lighter, if I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I can also say that the new style is a little roomier. So for someone with a larger head like myself, it was much welcome. The previous style shrunk some over time after sweating in it, and eventually got too small for my head.

All good points, but the brim on the new hat is much thicker.

The new aero bill hats are terrible and stick up on the head like a 90"s bell biv devoe style hat. It looks awkward now. Buy as many as the old ones as u can.

True, Nike has the uncanny ability to screw up on a good thing.
