New Nikecourt zoom vapor 9.5 flyknit

I am seeing new vapor 9.5 which has flyknit.
I am not sure this shoes is for Federer's Wimbledon shoes or not but very interesting that how flyknit materials will work for tennis shoes. It's $200 but not sure it will be really limited edition or usual limited edition which is not really LE. This shoes is scheduled to release on 25th. BTW white with black swoosh.

Very strange... If Nike wants to make vapor with flyknit, it should be vapor X/10.

I'm interested as well.

I saw the NikeCourt X RF line looks like it has a couple of fly knit shoes coming out (grey and navy, $200) but they are lifestyle shoes as opposed to court shoes. Very interested to see if a fly knit vapor emerges.

Hey Kim, where did you find the information about release date and price? I don't find it on nike website.
Cheers.

Looking at the picks of him practicing at Wimbledon, I think this is his shoe.

Would this shoe be lighter? I'm guessing that it would be, and this would be good. I have trouble wearing the regular vapors because of their weight. I know that they're considered light, but after using adidas feather iii for 2 years, it's a hard change

I saw one pre-sale on bay.
if we see the shoes on 25th, probably it might not be real LE.
it had a product number too but the number did not direct to this particular shoes so not sure. it's real or not.

Honestly flynit material might be bad idea for tennis shoes. it might be light but it tears down very quickly.
Probably Nike tries to experiment with this version and see how the shoes will perform in real world.
Flyknit vapor might be much lighter but bad for clay and hard court. probably flyknit might work in grass haha.

yes, unless they did what adidas did with their PureControl + football cleats by making it more thick and supportive. i would agree that a lot of reinforcement would be needed as players who slide can rip a hole. i would suggest the medial side gets a sort of plastic cage to prevent tears.

The listing has lots of images. Looks like plastic toe guard.

I'm still pretty sure they are the ones he's wearing, for practice anyway.
I saw a GIF and his heel doesn't have the usual trophy, with 7 in it (I know Kimguroo knows about that! ; ))
Also the black swoosh doesn't go around the back, so matching the shoes on the bay.

Might not even work for grass in all honesty. I've used flyknit racers for running and they started to rip on me after 2 1/2 months of running an average of 2-3 miles every day. Granted, the flyknit racers are quite fragile, but tennis is obviously a lot more taxing on shoes than running. Sliding with flyknit shoes on any surface is pretty much impossible too without having it rip.

i was going to get me another pair of flyknit racers but i think these are more worthy of my vouchers

at least i can always return them to NDC if the flyknit doesnt work out for tennis.

Available in Europe on Nike.
Doesn't look like limited edition.

Edit: new emoji TShirts also available.

Yes full sizes available in UK.

Does mention anything about limited edition or even Quikstrike like the regular Vapor 9.5 does?

Very Temped by the emoji t shirts

I think Nike made them for casual wear, more than tennis wear.
Flyknit could be more fragile, and maybe tooguard, but if you don't wear it to play tennis it's OK then !

We do have vapor flyknits coming out for the open as well. So there will be a definite test period to see how the customer base feels about it

... and another question for the TW guys: do you happen to know, by any chance, whether TWE is going to get those... and if yes, when?

Many thanx in advance.

I have a pair of the FREE RN FLYKNIT's that I wear to workout in. Very comfortable, however, I am getting blisters on the top of my toes from the friction that is somewhat caused with the flyknit and my socks. I cannot imagine playing tennis in them if I get blisters from working out.

I don't mind the flyknit on the 9.5's from a purely aesthetic perspective, like most posters have suggested, I do perhaps question it's durability from an on-court perspective however.

As I'm sure we've all seen, Nike recently released the video of them doing a kind of RF "luxuary" range and dare I say these shoes are either part of it or were at least inspired by it...I say inspired because I don't see the "smaller RF monogram within the small circle"....so cringe worthy on so many levels...all that was missing was Zoolander!

In reality it's just Nike's way of evolving the RF brand in preparation for Federer's retirement...start creating items that are more "exclusive" and not necessarily designed for on-court action.

I've just received them, both UK size 8.5

Normal White Vapor 9.5 QS = 390g
White Vapor 9.5 FlyKnit = 377g

They don't feel the same as my other Nike Flyknits. Not flexible at all really., feels very stiff.

It looks like they went the same route as the Kobe's. Flyknit cloth on the outside, and an inner layer for support. Unlike most Flyknit shoes, with only one layer of soft elastic Flyknit.

Exactly. Only way you could do a tennis shoe, really. And nto have it fall apart at least.

Nike did a good job to shave some weight with new material.

probably the price was too expensive and initial sale might not meet their expectations. Nike just dropped the price to $180.

It does look like Fed is using the Flyknit Vapors at Wimbleon

I am not sure he wore flyknit... looks like it's regular vapor. TV broadcasting did not zoom in his shoes.
hope some photographers too pic of the shoes.

Reinforced with glue no doubt. Does the entire length of the shoe feel stiff or only near the toe area?

let us know how it breaks in, and how supportive it feels on court.

Just bought the shoes and will be here 7/5. Wonder what the flyknit will feel like since I'm so used to the prior models. I've worn vapor 6's, lunarlite 7's, Nike id vapor 9's, 9.5's and 1.5 ballistecs.
I think durability will be a problem, especially in the toebox since that's where a lot of vapors tear. One thing I kinda sure of is that wearing hyper elites in these is going to be hell. Tried to wear elite/hyper elites socks in flyknit lunar 3's and the lunarepics and that didn't bode well. Pretty sure these will need thin to medium socks to make the flyknit fit well and not be a vice grip on your foot. Will post updates. Free returns in 30 days anyways :)

Well I have to say the flyknits sole felt a bit stiff, I haven't played in them yet, only tried on. They reminded me (and look a bit like) of my old Vapor 6, the ones with RF all over.
Also quite narrow. I love the 9.5s because they are wide at the ball of foot. I agreed elite socks maybe too thick.
Maybe I should stick with the regular 9.5s QS? At least they came in the 'legend' box.
Flyknits come in standard orange.

Just saw pic of fed shoes and it's flyknit vapor and there is no "7" trophy graphic at heel but there is a new graphic/image.

Thing is even if these aren't great tennis shoes on the court, I feel compelled to keep them somehow because they're different from traditional vapors. Who knows if Nike will continue with flyknit for tennis shoes or not. Worst case scenario, it becomes a super expensive casual shoe :)
