NEW Prestige MP 360

Can you give some comparison of Phantom 97 to the new G360+ Prestige MP – or other rackets that it reminds? Also thinking to buy one for a try. I quite like Phantom 93P feel and this is supposed to be even better. I do not like Prince string patterns – they are all too open for me. But 97P suppose to be tighter.
Keep in mind I am splitting hairs here:
They are both good racquets but phantom 97 is on another level imho. It’s like prestige is 5.05 and phantom is 6.0, they are both good players but prestige can’t touch phantom in most settings.
Unlike one of the posters above I found that phantom 97p has slightly higher launch angle but it’s negligible. As a matter fact 97p for me almost plays like 1820 racquet.
I prefer phantom thiner beam that when I switch to prestige it seems big to me. Phantom noticeably easier cuts through the air.

Phantom 97p is also noticeably more comfortable and has that plush comfortable bend when you hit the ball. That’s not to say that That’s not to say that prestigious not comfortable they both are but if you can notice the difference between above 60 and below 60 RA you will definitely notice that this prestige is not comfortable they both are but if you can notice the difference between above 60 and below 60 RA you will definitely notice this difference in comfort. In addition my prestige demo is strung with an nxt and gravity hybrid and phantom is full poly and despite softer stringbed by a mile phantom still feels softer so I am little concerned if I were to put in full poly in prestige would it hold up in comfort.
Positive for prestige is that I noticed that it’s more precise in terms of serving. Not by much but noticeable this is what keeps me interested in prestige and will probably buy one for long term demo.

hi, how would you compare the feel/comfort of the 97p vs blade v7 ? i tested the blade v7 16x19 last year for a short time and even with alu power the comfort was there. since i can´t demo the 97p in europe (and not at the momemnt anyway) i would like to know your opinion. especially since the phantom 100 18x20 (predecessor to the current generation) didn´t feel als plush as expected; the frame was flexible but still kind of firm with a small swetspot. so i´m skeptical about the 97p since he has the same beamwidth.

Thanks! I will buy it for sure to try out. Graphene 360+ Prestige MP is really old-school classic feeling racket. I think @vsbabolat put it right near to Classic Prestige 600. Honestly it isn't also far from Dunlop Muscle Weave 200G or much less powerful and comfy 260.5 (IG Radical Pro) – which has great feel/power/control balance. Looking forward to compare it to IG Prestige MP (25th and standard) and 238.1. I know I said prefer new Prestige over IG – but honestly I need more time with the racket to give final opinion. I have my G360+ Prestige MP strung with NXT17 main and AluPower125 crosses, 23kg both.

A few post earlier I said I prefer the feel/touch of G360+ Prestige MP over Blade v7 – which is still to be decided after SARS-CoV-2 lockdown finally, but I think v7 is for sure more easier and a bit more comfortable from G360+. I think also VCore Pro 97HD is more comfortable from Prestige – but it is also unpredictable quite often and has worse feedback.

I never played with any Phantom, but I am always worried to buy any Prince frame. However first Tour 95 was a nice one and the feel of Phantom 93P was also very fine. If P97 has similar or better feel (TennisNerd opinion) along with 97" frame and 320g unstrung static weight – this could be nice option.

Plus I wanted to ask I have the opportunity to get some demo frames from head. Was thinking of new prestige mp, I guess no one has hit with pro tour 2 yet?

Did you played it with poly? For me X one has a nice feel in every frame I played with.
I wish that was true to make a racquet feel nice was just put some. X-one or VS gut in the racquet and magically played nice. I played with it in poly. I had Luxilon Element in it. It was in a post.

I know what you wrote about it with Element, I was thinking that you tried it again with different poly after you coustomized it to your specs.

So I got my new 360+ Prestige MP from fedex today, and just finished an hour+ long hitting session.

It’s a really nice frame. Feelwise to me, it sits between the Gravity Pro and Gravity Tour. The Pro is one of the best feeling and solid rackets I’vr tried in several years. The new MP is much more maneuverable though. And the Tour is the easiest to play and most spin, aka clay, friendly.

Compared to the G Pro, or IG Prestige, it adds a little bit of the VCore 95 or 6.1 95 (2014/6) modern feel. Not a bad thing in my book. Translates into more pop that the IG f.inst. afaicr.

I had my first hit as well today after maybe over a month. Still pretty chilly and windy, but what an amazing high it is to play tennis again!

I had previously tried the MP and it did not wow me. Better than last few iterations because of the nicer feel though, but still. I figured it was because the guy I borrowed it from had it strung at very high tension. Today I tried it with freshly strung TB at 50 lbs side by side with my IGMP. Unfortunately, still not that impressed.

Comparatively still felt a tad crisper with a clearly smaller sweet spot. Anything outside of the hitting zone on string bed had a big drop in power as well. Let me just say that in my 360+ Gravity Pro, when I strung TB at 50 lbs, it felt pretty damn good. But I realise that Prestige and Gravity are different lines so perhaps it is an unwarranted comparison.

Overall feel for the 360+ Prestige MP is very good though with no jarring or vibrations. And yes, better than last few generations like I have said in the past. But it is not better than IG. For me at least.

Looks wise I think it looks pretty good. Would look even better with black CAPS but I don't think any would fit on this MP. In fact the guy I borrowed it from was asking me the same and I said I'm not sure. If anyone knows, let me know.

Also, does anyone have any stringing ideas perhaps for me? I can do a gut/poly but honestly I snap gut mains too fast even in 18x20 patterns. Have a bunch of polys around and I like full bed poly anyway. What is everyone using in their 360+ MP? I have borrowed the stick, was told to keep it for as long as I want (but I'll probably return after a week). I'll goof around with some string setups before I return it as I have a bunch of demos coming in as well.

I have mine strung with Klip gut mains and Hyper-G in the crosses and love it so far. I may try Ghost Wire in the crosses next go around to compare.

*Has anyone tried the Graphene Touch MP? At $79.95 on TW, just curious if it is worth adding to the collection. Looks like it may be nice with some weight added in the right places

I felt the same when I first used it, but once the tension dropped it turned out alot nicer. and the sweet spot opened up quite alot compared to first hit

I think its pretty string sensitive and also tension sensitive

I use TB 1.15 at 45lbs or MSV Focus Hex Soft at 45lbs, initially i put 48 or 50 i think

Thanks. TB 18 gauge is exactly what I have in the racquet and it is strung at 50 lbs. Strings have probably settled by now well below 50 lbs. I don't have MSV Focus Hex unfortunately so will stick with TB which I have a reel of. Perhaps next stringing I need to go down 5 more pounds like you are suggesting. My baseline for all racquets is around 50 lbs and then I start adjusting from there. Will see how this one does.

I got a demo of the MP and Mid today. The MP I got was way under spec with SW at 308 with poly/multi setup, yikes  . Head quality control is pretty bad as this should come in around SW of 323. I had to add some lead tape in the hoop to get it to around SW of 320. I will be taking this racquet out for a spin this week and let you guys know which one plays better.

The sw for the mp is 310 . The mid is 321. The mp 7HL and 11.8oz is what makes it well balanced and moves through contact zone very quickly . The 360+ is stable enough and well balanced stock .

I measured it at SW of 308 with strings not unstrung though. TW specs show avg SW with string is 323.

I can't imagine they'd feel similar. The UT felt like a light toy compared to my prestiges.

That's because Wilson has no quality control whatsoever.

They are now more interested in retailing to people whose biggest buying consideration is whether they can customize the colours and have their name printed on the inside of the throat.

Modern day Head has its critics as a company, but even their current racquets are light years ahead of Wilson's current lines.

According to this guy the MP has a rectangular grip. See from this fragment. I'm confused now. Is that still the TK82S grip shape (that I actually like)?
That guy is a complete idiot and has no idea what he’s talking about. I own 2 Graphene 360+ Prestige MP and can confirm that they come with TK82S pallets. The same TK82S pallets that are on Gravity, Speed, Extreme, Radical, and Instinct line of racquets. Entire HEAD line now uses TK82S pallets

He was confused about the grip change in the lineup by head . I used speed pro for 5 yrs and did a grip size change for my son’s speed touch lite . I ordered a tk82s pallet from the U.K. (tennis depot ) and did the pallet swap. I can confirm that it’s the tk82s on speed , gravity, and prestige 360+. I even lined up all the grips against the wall by propping up the frames grips upwards.

It is also stamped TK82S on the pallets. All he had to do was look at his demo. It’s not difficult and not confusing

I've been hitting with the MP for a few days now, and I really like it. The strings have settled and the control is impressive. It doesn't have the inherent top spin of a Pure Aero, but the MP lets me to control depth, height and spin, with ease. And I don't think I've ever hit better FH than during today's practice.
I'm def getting the Pro Tour 2.0, but the MP has relegated my Gravitys and will be hard to replace ...

How does your shoulder hold up on serves? How does it perform grinding out on clay?

no issues with the shoulder on serve; if anything, it’s easier to serve with than the Gravitys (which are good).

I played a friendly match today on clay, with quite a bit of wind, and it helped me against a heavy pure Aero topspin hitter, keeping the ball low and short. Compared to the PA, head to head, it’s not as powerful, but the precision and feel lets me put more power into the ball confidently, and lets me shape more aggressive or better tactical ball trajectory and spin.
