NEW Prestige MP 360

If you like the 98 in Head then give me a few days and I’ll post a review on all the models about to be released. Need to string up 2. Considering the names are about to switch it’s a bit confusing.

I personally play with custom Prestige MP Graphene 360 which is still 95 sq in. I like the smaller Head size

Thank you. Any idea if the word “Graphene” stays in the name of the new layup? Curious if this is the end or continuation of 360+ ?

Names are about to switch as in “frames that were previously on other lines are now Prestiges”?

Might need to snap up a mid while I still have a chance. End of an institution if they discontinue it in the US.

Demoed this frame for a couple of hours this week after just having purchased 2x Gravity Pro (ouch), it turned out that G+ Prestige MP is a frame much better suited to me, much due to the added swiftness in air and manouverability and preference for 98 SI frames. I ended up ordering two and plan to order one more seeing that it will be discontinued, I actually only found one European retailer that had it in stock in L3.

I have just read through all pages of this thread and there is a lot of discussion related to different strings, predominantly 18G, but is there actually anyone who have settled with one they like the best after testing many? The demo frame was strung with RS Lyon 1.20 at what I believe is 46-48 LBS and it felt very good but planning on testing HLT, HL and Luxilon Alu Power at least.

I got to see the new prestige line today. They changed things around quite a bit. The new paint job looks much better to me.

Is the rumored black and red graphene touch looking paint job spot on? When you say changed things up, do you mean the layup has changed a lot, or the names in the lineup have changed?

Yes it is very similar to the gt paint job. It looked more glossy than the gt. It has a simple classic pj with mostly black paint. The logos were in red. The pro is supposed to have 18x20 pattern. The rest of the line is lighter and no more thin beams. It seemed like they streamlined the line and made it more user friendly. I have no idea about the layup. The guy said it’s coming November.

Thank you! Is there not going to be a 98 sq inch midplus with a 20 mm beam? The pro used to be 16x19 and the mp was 18x20. The paint job sounds so damn good….black and red on a racquet looks amazing.

Specs didn’t change from the 360+. Only thing that changed besides the paint job was the names and more of a box beam. I can say the new Tour (old Pro) is much better than the 360+ Having already hit with it.

Sounds like Head wants to match the names up with their other lines. I know a few years ago their catalog was really bloated and the naming was a bit confusing, so I guess it’s a good thing they’re cleaning it up.

I’m really bummed out about the omission of the Mid from the US market, I know I’m not the only one who thinks it’s the best of the 360+ Prestige line. I hope this new Euro refresh is simply a PJ change, I don’t think there’s anything they can really do to improve the outgoing model.

Yes that is staying. That’s now called the Pro.
Just to clarify the MP is no longer 18 x 20? That seems like a big change. If it is moving so it is similar to the rest of the Head lines, the 360+ MP will be the new Pro and the MP will be the lightest out of the 3 and the Tour will sit in the middle, is that correct?

Ah so they just swapped the names around? I remember the new pro having an 18x20 and the new mp being lighter with bigger head etc. I could’ve sworn the new pro had a 95 head and thicker than 20 mm head though.

I’ll post the stats tomorrow. I have 2 to string but lost all power in my basement so no lights!

The old pro had a 22 mm beam and 95 sq inch head. Maybe that’s the new tour?

Am I getting this right?
MP -> Pro (same 98 racquet, new name)
Pro -> Tour (new 95 racquet, new name)
Tour -> MP (same 99 racquet, new name)
Mid -> Mid (same 93 racquet, same name)

Sorry to disturb in the noise of the new frames. I'm stocking up on the MP 2020, and thought that I would do the same for the grommets and grommet cap.

I can find grommets readily availble, but it doesn't seem as the actual cap is included, can someone verify that, and if it is not, where can you purchase them from?

Second question is whether the cap can be removed and then added again, f.e if one would like to add lead under the cap? Or would one need to replace the entire grommet and cap?

If it's for a racket that already has CAPs (like the MP), then the grommets themselves are CAP already.

As for whether CAP can be removed and added again, it's the same as with normal grommets, if you can get the flared grommets to go back in, then you can remove and replace.

CAP isn't anything extra to grommets, it's just that the bumper guard extends all the way around with the grommets (although 3&9 may also be separate grommet pieces themselves).

Damn, from the description, they will look great, curious if there will be any spec change (besides name changing).

Yes. Only new tech and paint scheme besides the names. The new tech definitely makes a difference.

This update seems to make sense all around. Are you allowed to say what the new tech improves upon?

Also, are we looking at November now instead of December? It would make sense for people shopping for Christmas to look down new frames around Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

I will definitely wait for your review and comparisons between the prestige mp 2020 and the new model. If it's really an evolution it's worth waiting for, otherwise I'll buy the 2020 model. Thank you.

I can tell you that from hitting just ten minutes with the “Tour” the new tech made it feel a bit softer. Closer to my older 6.1 Hyper Pro Staffs. That in my opinion is a very good thing. I just finished stringing the last 2 prestige’s so I will play test this week and provide feedback on here.

it is scheduled for release in November if I’m not mistaken.

So one thing that is different is they thankfully went back to the box beam. That was my biggest criticism of the Graphene 360+ and the reason I have 5 custom Graphene MP’s and 3 standard ones in the closet waiting to be worked on. I hated the non box beam feel.

Is the current model not a box beam? I was sure it was...

That classic Head softer feel is what I would want from a Prestige, so this sounds great.

You’re going above and beyond. This review is really appreciated.
Glad to help! I’m curious as well. I like the 95 sq in Head better than the 98 but some day if I smash all 8 of my current racquets I need to have a backup lol. The 98 could be the answer!

Lol! How does the full black cap look with the red prestige text? The local pro shops I talk with have all seen the entire new line and said it looks great too. Lots of positive feedback on the new cosmetic.

New paint job is fantastic. A bit if a throwback and the black caps looks great on the paint. I was not a fan at all of the Graphene 360+ frames and paint. This feels more like back to a classic.
