NEW Prestige MP 360

New paint job is fantastic. A bit if a throwback and the black caps looks great on the paint. I was not a fan at all of the Graphene 360+ frames and paint. This feels more like back to a classic.

Hoping that this racquet is the sleeper hit of the year. It’s nice when these legacy lines get it right.

I just got a 360+ MP and love everything about it besides a slight lack of stability on off-center shots compared to my Pure Strike, which is a lot stiffer, but nowhere near the feel or control.

I can get a second 360+ for about $180 this week during my local shop’s big sale. Should I hold off for the new version if I’m like 95% satisfied with the 360+? Is the new tech worth the wait, in your opinion?

Hard to advise. I absolutely disliked the 360+ because it went away from the box beam. This one going back has a more traditional solid feeling all around

For my reference, did the Liquidmetal Prestige have a box frame? That was my previous racquet before hopping back into the game after a long break.

Every racquet in the 360+ Prestige line already has a box beam. I appreciate Raizu’s feedback on the new line but I’m not sure what he’s referring to. Maybe there have been some mold changes for the new models.
The Graphene 360+ was not a box beam. Look at the frame itself in person and it’s rounder and clearly not a box beam.

The molds haven’t changed. I don’t know what you’re talking about. The 360 was box beam and had a very sold traditional feel
The 360 is the one I use. The red 360+ went away from the box beam. I have it in my basement. Completely different racquet.

There was no 360 Prestige. It went from Touch Prestige to 360+ Prestige
Before you get on me for improper use of tech language . I play with Graphene touch. I skipped the 360+ because to me in person the Frame is 100% different than the one coming out and the Graphene Touch. Doesn’t feel or play the same and no where on the frame I have does it say Box Beam like my other frames or the upcoming ones like the picture I posted.

I believe the confusion is the shift in The nomenclature what used to be “Pro” (291) is not going to be “Pro” in 2022 ;)
The 291 is not the box beam, 345 is :)

Ah, the 291 is the one prestige mold I haven’t seen in person. I was looking at pictures of the hoop on TW and it looked boxy but after looking at more photos online I can clearly see how the hoop is more rounded than the other models.

@Raizu your impressions make a lot more sense now that I see what racquet you’re coming from (y)

I think it was the Prestige S at one point (IG), then Pro…and now will be…
That mold has been around for a long time (293 was prestige MP and 292 was mid at one point)

yes, the one at my shop has “Pro 200” on the throat. racquet has a great feel to it

My impression regarding the 360+ MP Beam: not a box beam. The outer side of the beam is 20 mm, but the inner side is slightly thicker, maybe 21 mm, giving the frame a somewhat trapezoidish beam. It’s easier to notice it if you hold it close to a 20 mm beam, like the Gravity Pro.
I might be wrong, though. Given that I’m going against the usual insiders, there’s a higher chance of me being wrong, but I wonder if @Howard H could chime in

Lol we cleared it up. 2 of the 3 frames were a box beam. With the upcoming name changes it’s going to confuse everyone

I’m also pretty excited about this. I have a 360+ prestige mp and gravity pro and like them both a lot but can’t help but think a blend of the two would be awesome - the gravity head size sometimes feels too big. Wonder if this will be it.

I want a black bumper. Too much red for me, but I bought 2 of 'em cause they feel so good.

They seriously do feel incredible. I'm trying to move a Pure Strike so I can pick up a second for good measure.

Just for my curiosity, how's the feel/control of the Prestige against your Speed Pro? Never got to demo that, but seems like another clear cut winner from Head.

Since I'm not playing any tournies atm, I've been splitting time with both of them. The Speed (black one) is weighted and the Prestige isn't.

-the feel is great, it's got some more power than the Prestige (again, added weight might have something to do with that)
-the 18x20 is so nice in a 100, my control is just as good with both racquets
-kicks are easier and better with the Speed
-slice and pickups feel a little better with the Prestige

They've upped the SW of the 2021 Speed Pro so I'm sure it would feel great as well.

I bought a pair of MP+ second hand, and I have to say that this is the best feeling racket I've played with. I win more and play better - by a huge margin - with the Rad MP+, but the plushness and feel of the PMP+ is intoxicating. That being said, I've bought this frame previously on two separate occasions - and sold them after a few months because they still to require a lot of effort to win matches. But I'm keeping these for a while as my guilty pleasures

What is it about the Radical MP that let's you win more easily than the Prestige MP you think?

Higher ball trajectory, more spin and easier depth. It lets me hit deep with heavy spin, pace and height, much easier than the PMP+ or the VC95 f.inst. My indicator here is that my opponent's BH break down way more often with this frame, and by their surprise. Here I win by hammering away, from both wings, Kachanov-style, countering everything with TS.

The PMP+ has more plow, and the 18x20 pattern lends itself to flatter hitting, where it excels. But it's harder to control depth, i.e. keep it within the lines when going deep. But the sensation and feel is as good as it gets. I can win with this if I concentrate on developing a Murray approach/craftiness to my tennis.

I love it when people wax poetic about the Prestige. So many great things to be said. Makes me long for the PC600, iPrestige, and the YTPMP and YTPM. But not enough to go buy them or anything.

I’ve tried the PT600 on several occasions, as well as the iPrestige, and I owned the IG version (also the first Graphene version, but let’s not talk about that ). I also owned the PT 2.0.

None of these come close to the playability of the 98 sq in MP+. The frame has a similar sweet feeling but adds in forgiveness. The frames listed above punishes anything less than stellar tennis.

There are often a lot of comments on how 2-3 sq in can't matter, but ime, they do, esp 4.5 and up, or hard hitting 4.0s. Then you start coughing up short balls when hitting just slightly out of the sweet zone.

I demoed the current Prestige MP shortly after it came out in full multi, loved the feel, the control and power surprisingly on full swings was sufficient. Given the new low price I am thinking of picking one or two up based on how good I remember it playing. Have people here found a hybrid of poly mains and multi cross to work well too? Also what gauge are people liking and and what tension?

Thanks,
JB
