NEW Prestige MP 360

If the new Prestige was an update of the PT 630, I buy 5 matched.

If we continue down this stiffer, mold swapping, string pattern changing, I buy one to test and resell it. Although, I’m too exhausted to put the effort to try even one now.
I can tell you it's has a soft feel. You also get more pop from the upper part of the hoop. I'm dying to post my video but.....NDA.

Its alot like the gravity. Has the same fibers. More precision oriented.

hit my youtek mp at the same time as the 360. I'd rather take the youtek every time.
I have a pair of the YT MP with the d3o hologram. I was trying to find pictures online of the IG version to compare cosmetics with my YT. I keep hearing the YT IG was a great frame

@vsbabolat different thread and all...but does the YT MP d3o fall in the PT57 family? and what did you think about this frame? It hits the scales lighter than my PT57E.

The YT Prestige MP is the TGK238.4, not an PT57. I thought it was pretty stiff. Not my favorite.

Ok but all the prestige MPs have been the same shape (hairpin) up till now?

The differing codes due to layup additives?
No, The molds have been similar and slight changes. The i.Prestige MP is TK57E has pointed grooves in the throat, the LM Prestige MP (I don’t remember the production code anymore) had a flat throat no grooves with ridges at 10, 2, 4, 8 o’clock, the Flexpoint Prestige MP flat throat Flexpoint dimples with LM ridges, Microgel Prestige MP TGK238.1 is very similar to the Pro Tour 630 except the MG Prestige grommet channel doesn’t extend past the grommet channel, YT Prestige TGK238.4 same mold as MG Prestige MP, IG Prestige MP mold change TGK293.2. It has a longer grip than the 238 series. TGK293 mold has been used on all the Graphene Prestige MP’s up until the 360 Graphene Prestige MP where there has been a complete redesign and is a completely new and different Mold.

I don't get the guys saying it doesn't look bad. Red on red? One fluorescent and the other burgundy? This is the death of good taste, some graphic designer deserves to lose their job. The bright cap grommets are the worst insult to injury, too.
It really doesn't look that bad in person but it would look better with the burgundy in the throat and black with red writing in the hoop!

HEAD has no interest in selling an update to the Pro Tour 630. Think about it. HEAD discontinued the Pro Tour 630 and replaced it with the Premier Tour 600. That was a WTF moment. While the Pro Tour 630 is still being used on the ATP tour to this day the Premier Tour died after 1999 never to be produced again.
I wonder if they brought back the pro tour 6:30 if the JR's would like it?

I would reverse this and do the burgundy hoop with a black throat.

Current frame is too much like the IG which was ok playing (with mods) but not much of a looker.

They would have to give the Pro Tour 630 a modern paint job. I have given my Pro Tour 630’s with Graphene Prestige MP paint jobs to juniors and the were blown away by how good it feels and how it has more power than a modern than the XT Prestige MP.

I don't know why they went with the red hoop, if they made the prestige black with a burgundy throat and red writing it would look clean like the speed. They must have a reason why they dont use Andy Murray's frame! Im sure they will come up with a new material after the 360+?

Yes, they will come up with some new BS marketing that’s not really in the racquet.

Yes i think the Gravity feels like a old prestige?
Why’s doesn’t the Prestige MP feel like an old Prestige? Why is the Prestige MP thick beam at 22mm now and not 20mm. Why has the Prestige MP been a stiff hollow feeling racquet with a lot of vibration? Why doesn’t HEAD want the Prestige MP to feel nice and plush?

When you have a racquet made from molded hardened broken glass, its hard to make it plush

Maybe if they get a good response fro the Gravity Pro thats a 20m beam they might try that who knows they just made the speed a 23m beam from 22m? And they are selling alot of speeds! I couldn't tell you there reasoning for there racket making process? Ive hit with the new Prestige and it feels better than the touch models they don't feel hollow.
They sell a lot of Speed’s for one reason and that reason is Djokovic. What Djokovic is using isn’t even close to what they are selling. Basically what Djokovic is using is a Radical MP (95 headsize) PT113B.

You most likely don’t know this. HEAD for a short time had an official from the company on the site. It didn’t last long. He was not allowed to answer many questions because of higher up executives would not allow those questions to be answered. Then there was a rule: you could not talk about Pro Stock, paint jobs, and old racquets. What was left was talking about bags and string. Then the HEAD Penn Official left the site never to be heard from again.

I've known that since he first started play with head the average player dosent care about the technology of the racket most players go for the look of the rackets unfortunately. All you have to do is goggle it to see what the players are playing with, If you look at the Head website it says player's might not be playing with the rackets they represent! You have to be pretty dumb if you think you can buy what Djokovic is playing with! It seems to me allot of people think they are a racket Technician?
HEAD has no interest in giving people what they want and they have no interest in selling what their Pros use.

I must have a terrible taste (*I do not dispute that!), but I find the new color scheme attractive. Love the paint job.

I wonder why juniors all like my Pro Tour 630 in Prestige paint job?
I wonder why Wilson designed the Blade to feel plush and comfortable like the racquets were in the late 80’s early 90’s.
Hmmm... ok, I'll take a swing at this.
As to your first point, you are 100% correct. I've found the exact same thing. But let me give you a case study to consider. I used to do racquets for a particular Head sponsored junior. He was on a TGT something or other and we got Head to send him 57A2's. He loooved the feel, said it was so much better than the new stuff, but it didn't have any effect on results. Then he tried and switched to a Blade (not the new ones in your second point, but older and stiffer) and his results improved almost immediately. Won a junior GS title shortly thereafter.
Of course there are more moving parts in this example, not just the racquet, but when you've got the Al Davis "just win baby" attitude and feel takes a back seat, there are other more modern frames that do more with less than the old Head frames. Don't get me wrong, if you've designed your game around and are willing to swing something somewhere near the 374sw Murray uses, there's not much sweeter than PT57A. But in the 340ish sw zone most nextgen players are using, Blade (and H22) frames are simply more effective tools for winning. And Babolats too, of course.
The problem, in my mind, is that Head has managed to alienate their traditional fan base AND produce racquets that haven't been nearly as good as those from Wilson, Babolat etc. (New Blades may actually be the best of both worlds though) I wholeheartedly agree that Head hasn't produced good frames in years, and the current Prestige's have been terrible.
Personally, I don't blame Head for trying to produce a modern Prestige BUT they need to do a MUCH better job of it AND they need to continue to sell a couple classic models as well. Pro Tour 630 reissue, anyone?

I think head has to actually consider what juniors/college players are playing with. It's pure drives/aeros, blades, and a growing amount of vcores and ezones. Head has racquets that are similar to those but they are trying way to hard to have the "technology" sell the racquets instead of actually making a good racquet. I think the Gravity was a very good step for Head and I think their first decent racquet since they neutered their entire line six years ago. The rest of the head line is just confused. If you look at the specs of the extreme and the instinct they look like the same racquet. The speed is somewhat ok but the Gravity is pretty much just a better version of the speed. And see this entire thread for why the prestige line is messed up.

Prestige used to be a dominant college racket as well and head lost that share to the blade because they messed with it too much. The current blade is more prestige than the prestige
Agreed! As was at an academy recently and there was no Prestige at all used by any juniors. Number 1 racquet at the academy was the the Wilson Blade by far. There was Ultra, Babolat Pure Drive, Pure Aero, Pure Strike, Yonex Ezone, and Yonex Vcore Pro 97.

Well, we all have to say to Head thank you for bringing the true players racquets to market in the past and that other companies are using this old formula to make a better frames then Head does today!
Thank you HEAD!
