new Prestige Pro (Graphene XT) is almost as same power as Prostaff 97

I was Head Prestige user, but now i turned to Wilson Prostaff 97 because of power.
But I am still using Prestige Pro and MP too, sometimes.

I have a question to those who use Graphene (XT) prestige pro. Is it really more power than previouse prestige. If yes, do you think new Prestige Pro (Graphene XT) is almost as same power as Prostaff 97?

Any comment? Appreciated!

I found the older Graphene Prestige Pro to have more power than the new XT Prestige Pro. I felt the swing weight of the older Graphene PP to be higher than that of the new XT PP, giving it more power if you can swing both racquet at equal speed.

That all depends on the static weight and swingweight of the particular sample that you end up with. People need to move away from the idea that there is typically one weight/swingweight for a particular racket. The specs vary significantly for the same model racket. You could have a light Prostaff, a heavy Prostaff, a high swingweight Prostaff, low swingweight Prostaff etc. Same with the XT Prestige. I've seen 339SW XT Prestiges and also 328SW ones. That makes a big difference as to how powerful the racket is going to feel.

There are big swingweight and weight differences from virtually all the manufacturers. Even the TW specs (which is simply an average and can sometimes only be 1 or 2 samples) aren't necessarily representative of what's out there.

Hi DNA2002, i have hit with all these rackets, especially the PS97. I found the prestige graphene and graphene xt very similar in power, and if anything, the graphene has a slight bit more power then the XT. The PS97 has a lot more power then the prestige, and id use a stiff polys to tame it whilest using hybrids and softer polys in the prestige.

But how many samples did you test? One? And how did you measure 'power'? People really need to stop taking one sample and thinking that it's representative.

Of the 10+ samples of the XT PP I've measured on an RDC, swingweights ranged from ~328 to 339. Static weight range was also higher.
Of the 10+ samples of the Graphene PP I've measured on an RDC, swingweights ranged from ~324 to 336. Static weight range was lower that the XTs.

So if anything, based on a sample of 20+ rackets, the XT PP is generally more powerful as a result of the higher SW, higher static weight etc. That would also be consistent with Head saying that they've polarized the weight of the XT rackets more.

This is a good tip. When you are at the margins of difference between 2 sticks the QC variance will make a larger difference. It pays to use TW or TWEs matching service to select the stick with the weight/SW/balance you want. It's a small price to pay when you think how much one stringing costs.

PS: the other factor is the string job on each racquet when you test. That can easily make one racquet feel more powerful than another.
