I have the old PP 100P and 93P 14x18, but based on the TW racket comparison data the new models have bigger sweet spots. Anyone play both of these and can comment on which one they would play for attacking and angled tennis style with spin?

FYI, can’t play poly due to arm, so mostly stringing with Prince Synthetic Gut duraflex 17g. Can anyone recommend a 15L non-poly for the 14x18?

Which one was improved the most with the update?

Which one is more fun for you guys? I am leaning towards the new 14x18.

I haven't hit with the new 93P, but I really like the new 100P. I've been playing with it since it came out and previously played with the Pro 100P.

The new 100P has great stability, comfort, and that incredible box-beam feel that is almost totally unique to Prince right now. While the 93P has these attributes, the 100P is just more forgiving and easier to use.

I have seen some complain about the first 100P being to jarring outside sweet spot and causing shoulder pain on serve. My shoulder has been tender with various rackets so hard for me to really attribute the pain to the original PP100P.

The TW racket comparison tool shows the new 100P at sweet zone of 18 vs original 100P sweet zone of 17.

The 14x18 shows the updated racket went from sweet zone of 13 to now sweet zone of 17!!!! A pretty big increase which surprised me and made me want to try it vs my original 14x18.

Have you noticed increased comfort with the 100P update? Less brassy outside the sweet spot?

I’m currently using the green 93p 14x18. I’ve also used the new purple one. The differences are splitting hairs. There may be some more forgiveness in the upper hoop with the new one. I can’t really see a reason to get the newer one, when the green ones are cheaper.

Thanks for the feedback!

Can you recommend a non-poly string/gauge/tension for the open 14x18?

Higher twistweight is driver of SS increase, but whether the tradeoff is of net benefit / preferable depends on the player / technique honestly.

I played with the original Phantom Pro 100P and currently use the 2020 Phantom 100P. The newer version is clearly more comfortable and has better stability due to the twaron at 2 and 10 as well the throat. I also find a bit more power on the 2020 model. For a thin box beam it can pack some pop with some good racquet speed along with the right string set up. I currently use Gosen Micro 16 at 54lbs and there's a nice of power and control. The 100P is a sleeper of racquet and I am surprised that it's not gaining alot of popularity with more advanced players.
