"NEW" Pro Staff 6.0 85 St. Vincent (56kers beware - lots of pics)

Back to the item you posted....that's almost half of what you could get for a Pro Staff Mid back when this thread was started.

lol at Jack & Coke saying "56kers beware" - that sounds almost as old as the rackets themselves.

LOL indeed. :)

That $550 price was a steal. The seller probably doesn't/didn't realize what the market might pay.

I'd be willing to venture if this same one is put up for sale again, it will garner a $1000 price tag. Not too shabby.

I just noticed something interesting...this looks to be a late SV. But where is that Wilson hang tag that is so synonymous with the late SV?

Well, that didn't take long did it? Check out what's back on the market: 190560059989

Looks like the markup isn't that bad though [heavy on the sarcasm].

Racket purchased for $550, now trying to flip for $3,000.

Okay, who's going to take it down? :)

That's a big markup this time.

That's what the e-bay seller tennislicious does.

I wonder if he/she comes to the TW message boards.......

The e-bay user tennislicious is Danny Tran from California. He does visit the boards. I know this because I bought a SV and a JK PS from him.

Interesting to know CDestroyer.

I commented on his behavior regarding a couple of Yonex frames it seems he bought a while back.

I was watching an auction (relatively poor in detail) that had Yonex R-22 and R-23 frames together. I think he got them for around $30-$40 shipped....something like that. Within the month the frames were (and still are as of this post) listed at $90+ shipped.

It's his prerogative to "flip" frames on e-bay for profit. With certain models if the condition of the item is good enough you can wait for that singular buyer to purchase at your asking price.....it must be working out for him.

It's funny to see few people complaints but I don't see what's wrong with it..??.. people is trying to bargaining for $5-$10 on TTW and there are collectors who are out there willing to pay for high price.. Not only that a brand new St. Vincent won't come by every day or every month so $$ talk .. BS walk.. !! Look at a brand new remake of chinese version, sold out practically within 2 weeks all grip size and it's already on the bay for $300..

You're absolutely correct. The seller has every right to flip for profit. That is the American way so to speak. I respect the seller's business sense and headiness in snatching up classics and turning them around for a tidy profit. Kudos to his methods and successes. However, I can also understand those that question the ethical nature of his practice. What seller is doing is legal in every sense of the word. No one is disputing that. However, is it right or is it wrong? There are two justifiable answers. But that said, I can see where people's feathers might be ruffled because there is something to be said about plain 'ol decency (or at least I would like to think there is).

I agree, I always laugh when I see his prices, I always wonder how he manages to get any buyers but I suppose he must to keep at it.

Law of Economics--

"Any thing is worth whatever a person is willing to pay for it."

Yes what people are willing to pay does set the cost but as we have seen inflation out race wages(at least in U.S.) I think people who pay $300 for designer jeans are, as nicely as I can put it, not smart.

But I do not believe it is entirely there fault as the insane amount of money and research that has been poured into marketing and advertising over the years has created a verging on, if not already there, criminal manipulation system which has been completely integrated into the fabric of the culture making it nearly impossible to grow up not wanting those $300 designer jeans and be willing to exceed one's means to get them.

All indicating that companies set their prices much higher, creating their own market value, knowing that people will buy their product whether they can afford it or not. Look at the amount of credit card debt nation wide.

Again I am not saying these are the facts, just my opinions.

I wrote this in another thread regarding the same issue, just another way to look at it. I believe that tried and true law if economics has been distorted somewhat.

Excellent points. Well stated.

Seems we have some competition!: 280717242449

Well, at least we know we don't have to pay upwards of 3K for a new SV. :)

Another New St. Vincent!

Does anyone know what happened to this listing? 230715396778

I had been watching it but just noticed it ended.

Okay, be honest, who here snagged it? :)

Seriously though, what price do you think this racket would've garnered had the listing run its course?

Even in light of the ridiculous prices of "new" SVs on the Bay, I would still venture the price for such a specimen would command a price between $1,000-$1,500.

What does everyone think?
