Hi—-
Wilson seems to have released a Pro Staff Six One 100 v13 in Europe...is that true?
if so, any word on USA release?
Also, any thoughts on it?
Thanks much!

Jocko,

Yes and yes! Check back soon on our TW site! I can give some initial impressions on it- easy to use and swing, pretty forgiving and great access to swing. Chris found it to be a pretty versatile racquet.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

Hopefully it is not like the BLX version that came out in 2012. That one was a dud.

Thanks Brittany, I look forward to getting feedback on it.

Great frame. It’s what the pro staff line was missing. A real 100. With a head light balance and open pattern. A real pleener. (Morph of tweener amd players frame). Perfect for customizing if you should need to. Right now after swapping out the grip for a syntec feel mine is coming in at 11.49 oz and 4.75 hL. With 2g of lead at 12

Thanks so much! Sounds extremely intriguing.
Can’t wait to try it out…

im gonna make a strong prediction here. this frame will catch on to the pro tour in the coming year. i think it will be widely used in 2022. it brings the pro staff up to par with all the players who use 100s.

That is quite an endorsement!
Can you say how it will be a “counterpoint” to ProKennex?
Thanks much.

Really noice frame. I grabbed two of them from Europe. So easy to use and pretty versatile. I was surprised there was no talk about a US release. This makes sense now.

I can’t speak for PK. But it’s the best pleener frame I have ever used. I really sits perfectly on between tweezers amd players frames

As a “counterpoint to current PKs”?
Sorry, will confess I don’t know what that means…

hes trying to talk about the old Q+5Pro which some of us use. I have both and still prefer the pk, but im keeping my eurostaff around because its a good one.

Purestriker,

Yes, it is on the playtest list. However, our schedule is pretty packed and the video most likely won't be posted until August/September.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

How would you compare it to the EZ100?
Doesn't drive the ball as well or have as much pop as the EZ but does provide greater spin potential, better feel, and some of the nastiest kick/slice serves you've seen.

If you are purely a heavy spin player and don't drive or flatten shots much, it's an awesome frame.

FWIW, I put it in direct competition with the EZ100 (current main stick) and stuck with the EZ. But I would keep this one in the bag as a secondary without any reservation.

I’ll take that bet:) Almost all Wilson pros play with pro stock rackets that are unavailable commercially. Nevertheless, I am very helpful that this racket provides the pro staff feel with more margin for error.

Does anyone know if this racquet is fully foam-filled in the hoop like the good old Wilson Hyper ProStaff 6.1 95? It should be visible in the stringing holes when the racquet is unstrung in case anyone has a piece in their racquet arsenal :)

I haven't looked but it doesn't feel foam filled. Comfort is good though.

Thanks! The old Wilson Hyper ProStaff 6.1 95 was also really comfortable, especially in the flat first serves. With some of the newer and hollow racquets, I'm getting pretty bad elbow irritation on the flat 1st serves even though I'm using the same string setups. I'm looking to find something as comfortable as Wilson Hyper ProStaff 6.1 95, but with a modern twist. Already tried Head Gravity Pro and MP. Great frames, but a bit too hard for the arm in those 1st serves. This Pro Staff Six One 100 v13 on paper seems like a perfect one, but not sure if it's still dampened with the inner foam?

I am currently trying this racquet, coming from a much softer frame, the Phantom O3. Of course the feeling is very different, stiffer, less tolerance of course, though it is globally very comfortable and pleasing to hit with this frame, I am not as comfortable as with the Prince, but it is quite unbeatable on this area, so "to the impossible none is to be committed" we say in France !

And actually, reacting to your post ryushen21, I feel I have much more control on flatter shots than with the Prince, and I can more bring my game to full attack with the Six One. I don't event mention the comparison on the power on serve, really the weak point of the Phantom... and with the Six One... Wouawww!!! :Do_O

I can see this frame can be a killer for spin game, which actually I use to love heavily produce with the O3 Phantom, but for my purpose it also already helps me flattening shots out with great control, getting more free power and faster shots, that are hard to produce with the plush O3 stringbed imo...

To be continued

By the way, something pretty curious I noticed about the Six One when I received it recently and its comparison to the O3 Phantom, because I chose the Six One frame really on paper... They have quite the exact same string pattern, except from the very top couple of crosses!!! o_O (one more cross on the Six One)
