I got back into tennis about a year ago after a 12-year break and am now looking to upgrade my racquets.
I currently use the BLX Blade 98 (18x20), but they're showing their age and developing cracks. In my search for a new racquet, I’ve been looking for control-oriented frames with great feel.
I’ve demoed both the Wilson Blade Pro v9 16x19 and the standard Blade 98 v9 (18x20). While both felt great, I especially enjoyed the Blade Pro—it was much more fun to hit with. I’d like a bit more control, which I believe the Blade Pro v9 18x20 would offer.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to demo the Blade Pro 18x20 due to backorder. Given that I loved the 16x19 version and currently play with an 18x20, would it be a fairly safe bet to go with the Blade Pro 18x20 without testing it? I know it has a slightly higher swingweight, but I would likely ask TW to match some options within spec/slightly under spec
Thanks!
