Wondering if there has been any news regarding new colourways of popular racquets coming in 2025. I have a Yonex Percept 97 and I am holding out in hope they will release a new paint job with the same specs.

its really more the Percept I am hoping gets a new paint job. I don't mind the current one though
The thoughts behind the percept paint job originally was just - uhhh who decides these paint jobs? Even Tiafoe didn’t exactly switch to the new cosmetic right away.

It’s the same on the speed 2024 cosmetic: sinner and muchova never changed to it and stuck with the 2022 paint job.

Here’s something these companies should do: collaborate with the players on what they like from a cosmetic. Maybe not all but when you have top 10 or GS contenders/champions endorsing your specific line - you might want to get some input.

I’m also holding up and hoping new paint job for Percept comes early next year.
Anyone with any information about this? Any Yonex inside?

It has been said somewhere on the forum several days ago that new pj for Percepts is arriving, don't remember when, or if that was even mentioned

Yeah, seen and heard that. But nothing in “verified” rumours…. Any Yonex insider on the forum, with some knowledge of it?

yeah, also idk I feel the speed 2022 pj was top tier and the new one just doesn’t do it right for me (thinking about it now, the old head pj pattern was pretty fire. speed, boom, radical, extreme 2022/23 paintjobs look better than the new ones, but that also might be color choice for the new VERY radical look and the extreme)

would love to see a collab because especially for companies like head it’s the same old pattern in different colors like can we get some original ideas in here (except the boom mint that can stay)

Speaking of the speed - I was disappointed the legend was released as just a paint job variance to the regular pro. The opportunity for the 18x19 98 atleast was there. And failed.

From the 22 versus 24 update - I’m unsure why head felt the need to bump up the SW on both forms to the low 330’s - especially the MP.

97/98 18x19 speed “tour” i could see coming next year.

You mean like Yonex specifically mentioned that the paintjob was chosen for the new eZone based on input from Ruud, Shelton and Pegula?

I mean I didn’t see that regarding the new Ezone.
My comment was more towards when players don’t adopt the new paint job….

I think that's never gonna happen. If Head wanted to do that they would have released it as the Legend, but instead we just got cosmetic update.
i think that idea may have already been in the pipeline. i think hear sees success of 98’s and is wanting to capitalize.

It's also not a racquet anyone really wants. Head seems to have given up on making a 97/98 players frame that doesn't feel like hot garbage.

Trash, refuse, and garbage: the holy trinity.
wholeheartedly disagree. but that’s what makes the world go round. I think specifically the Prestige 98 is a gem as well. I guess I just like Head because they don’t foam fill their racquets like most other brands.

Fair enough, everyone needs a different feel - to me things dropped off with Head when they stopped foam-filling the racquets and started seriously changing the molds for each line. I grew up playing the PT10 & 57 so I guess what I expect out of a Head racquet is a bit different than the modern offerings!

newest prestige line imo especially pro has some of that awesome head feel.

I played the Pro 18x20 briefly this year (for about a month or two consistently) and I liked it initially but I couldn't get it set up the way I wanted to - ironically I found that it felt too stiff in the hoop and lacked the classic head 'dwell' feel that I've been trying to find for some time now. Ended up with Ezone 98s, so maybe I'm just losing it over here haha

honestly adding a sepia filter overtop the speed and making it brown and cream like the guitar below would be really cool as a limited speed colorway or colorway for any other racquet in their catalog.
