New Racquet Releases 2024

Does anyone here actually pay retail prices for rackets? $300 for a racket that costs a quarter of price, hmm...

How long does a racket type usually get an update? I have the Shift 300. As much as I love the look, and enjoy playing with it, I feel like it has so much to improve on, especially its consistency. I also didn't see much pros using it. I've seen Sakkari using it but then recently switched back to her old stick.
Wilson is stuck with it for awhile. They got Andy Roddick to hype it. Personally, I think Wilson keeps putting out club player rackets that pros have little use for -- Clash, Shift. No one uses them on tour. I am sure they're selling plenty of them, but they're trying too much to be a jack of all trades, master of nothing.

It's disappointing if this is true. I have a lot of respect for Wilson rackets, and personally, the most beautiful racket to me is the Shift. It so pretty I have it hung on my wall because I don’t play well with it. It’s good, but not consistent—or maybe I’m just not as skilled and consistent! :D

I’ve noticed a few players using the Clash during my routine weekend doubles matches at a local club. According to a video I watched on YouTube by a tennis shop owner, the Clashes were one of the best-selling rackets of 2023. However, aligning with your observation, many of the buyers seem to be club players or club owners stocking up on rackets that they find easiest to train with.

The best amongst their line, at least to my knowledge, are the ProStaffs and Blades?

Looks like Wilson Clash and Shift US Open editions are online. Looks blue (not like Ultra). Does anyone know if they are also doing noir or night editions in black?

Is the tfight 305 being launched this year? Similar to the 305 iso that came out in august 2022 - then the rest of the line was jan 2023.

Or are they waiting to release them all in January 25? I did hear of rumors it would be a bit more suitable to us rec players with a lower SW vs. the last 2 releases. More towards a mid 320s SW.

I just hope they are not white anymore. Can’t stand white TFs anymore

I would guess the TF40 would launch first

Reading the "tea leaves" I'm thinking the Dunlop SX line will get an update this coming year ... just looking at what's currently "on sale" in the Dunlop lines and this seems to be the one.

Just saw it. If you thought the last two generations were bright…
How much blue will there be? Like I imagine the diagonal band running through the racquet will be a bright orange, but what about the tip and handle color? I liked the navy they have on the current gen, but wouldn't mind a return of the silver somewhere.

I think the suggestion is like the Extreme it's all shades of bright orange but potentially the Head logo will be in blue i suppose

Ah, interesting... The 2021 model grew on me, but I can't imagine that kind of scheme growing on me. I liked that the radical tended to deviate from the other racquets slightly, where we saw the same color blocking in the last 3 generations, but different ideas regarding the colors (not just X color plus black.) The color choices for the extreme and I guess the boom MP are both a deviation, but for Radical to copy it like it's a new norm seems boring.

The main color is orange in The same way that the throat of the g360 radical is orange. The lighter color really looks like they mixed white into that paint, so it really registers more like pink, salmon, or coral. There's a lot of red in the mix, as you can see in the comparison to the current gen's you side hoop. Lettering in black.

We can definitely tell that there's no graphene inside anymore though, judging by the 2nd photo :D

Too bright for me, but less ugly than the outgoing one, which was probably the ugliest racquet design I've ever seen, my first impression hasn't changed, and I definitely had time to think it over. On the new one the two main colour blocks don't fit right, too little difference between them, and the smaller block is louder. Plus the finishing tape and the orange grip.. all kinds of wrong haha

But it's flashy and attention grabbing, which is the intention obviously. Fritz will still play fabulous tennis with this new paintjob :)

Just caught a clip on the WTA IG page where Townsend is wielding a very bright blue Yonex EZONE so I presume that's next year's model/PJ.

Edit: looks far too block coloured maybe that's just a 'black out' but they've gone for bright blue instead.

That looks like a different Ezone color….maybe the new one?

Just watched it, think it looks like the 2020 ezone after some weird color filtering

It’s a base paint version of their new Ezone. Yonex has been giving their players the new gen rackets in the closest paint finish to the retail cosmetic (without it being final) to get used to the look and feel when swinging it.

I see. Smart by Yonex. Really doing some good branding while keeping the players in the loop.
