Only Boom is a miss in my opinnion. New Radical is nice, when you put an over grip on top of that super bright orange base grip they use. Speed is fairly basic and not loud at all and the new Gravity is very nice. Even Prestige has that old classic feel. Kind of like a premium Mercedes.

That's a GTA Vice City (-Stories) inspired cosmetic. Hideous paintjob to my eyes, totally in-line with some more hideous Coco-Boom cosmetics etc.
Despite the fact I don't like the two-toned-orange cosmetics, I have to admit it really pops-out on TV. So, it was a right choice.
In other news, it seems Wilson with the Ultra and Tecnifibre with the "ID" TFight are straight-out road-copying the Yonex Ezone.

I kind of wonder about the blue we're seeing so commonly now. My initial guess is that blue and various shades of it probably have the largest and safest crossover in the various audience(s). It's mostly okay for the people who aren't into "girly" colors and still attracts people who like the brighter + adventurous colors we see in some like other head + Yonex rackets now too. As long as the execution is okay I don't mind, but it is a lot of blue...
 
I bet we'll be seeing more yellow/blue/red dominant frames from now on.
Blackedouts will be only for those like Stef and Bublik players in-between switching brands or rackets within the Brand.
I disagree with Wilson reissuing the Steam within the Ultra lineup. It's a joke to me that such a different mold is released as an Ultra. Let alone the fact it's the only Ultra coming in gloss paint.
There are just too many rackets out there from these brands. It's a total jungle.
Tecnifibre, Solinco, Kuikma/Artengo and Nordicdots and Dunlop are much easier to keep up with.

I promise you guys companies have settled on paint jobs long before competitors make announcements.

There are trends in colors, shades, and saturations and everybody’s responding to the same stuff. Look around fashion and interior design right now and you’ll see it. Source: married

Yeah the current Radicals and Extremes pop on TV and are unmistakable as are the new Ezones. I see this current trend sticking around for a while.

Exactly what came to my mind Vice city definitely aimed at a younger audience personally I like it maybe because I was a vice city and GTA fan.

I think if it is the paint, the static weight would be a bit lighter than the previous version, unless they messed with handle weight to compensate. The fact that all three are in the 270s makes it seem to me like something is different about this batch, but hopefully you just ended up with three weird ones.

That is really bad. Also keep an eye on QC for grip sizes. I’ve measured a Tecnifibre in the past that was supposed to be 4 1/2 at less that 4 and 3/8.

How can you claim it’s bad QC when the SW’s are within 4 pts of each other? It’s pretty low for a “player racquet”, but this is a Radical MP in a “fun hip special edition” paint job probably targeted to more casual users. You would have to know HEAD’s target SW to claim poor QC otherwise.
 
@SupahMan5000 I wonder if you can shed any light on the batch / cracking issue. I am wondering whether to try to find a "non-cracking" batch of the green rackets or go for the new midnight purple ones because they should be a new batch. Do you know if there is a serial number we can look out for on the green ones as the new batch?

What option do you think is best to avoid the cracking issue? When they crack, they give me tennis elbow so I am a bit concerned about this but the rackets really are the best model for me.

Any info greatly appreciated... yonex of course won't reply if you ask them anything so you are our only yonex information hope ;)

I just kept warrantying them I have no clue as to what’s going on with them since they just kept sending them

TW has the SW at 322, if we take approx ~30 for strings, it should come in at 290 (lowest). Its off by 10-15 points.

I agree, i have send them back and ordered more to confirm. If they are still low i am going to order a few from other shops.
 
More precisely, strung racquet adds about 33 points to your swing weight. Depending on the string pattern and gauge, sometimes it’s 35 or as low as 31. But 33 points is what I found the be average.

Those are the specs for the regular Radical MP. This palm tree collab is obviously aimed at the weaker wristed player types if you know what I mean (casual tennis players). Just take a look at the matching backpack and tote bags. I bet Head made the conscious decision to lower the swing weights a bit for this special collaboration with a brand focused on fostering “luxury, entertainment, and community.”

If you learned with heavy rackets, you have to try out the Pure Aero Rafa Origin!

The SW reported by TW is what they measured, it's not an official target SW because Head doesn't release that number

Your SWs aren't off by 10-15, they're off by +/-2 SW. That's better QC tolerance than any brand you can buy right now

I see where you're coming from! I always thought TW measures SW for 10- 15 frames and posted the average.

No brand gives SW number. So reputable stores like TW measure them independently and update them constantly. And that is what you go by. So yes, it’s off by a lot. I’d return those frames and pay for spec matching service. That is what I do every time I buy new sticks, and it’s worth every penny of it.
 
Saw new Percept at NBO. I’m not sold on new color at all. Now old green doesn’t look out of sort… duno, maybe it’s first impression. But I was left wanting more…
On other note, rumor has it that new Vcore comes next year in gloss. And possibly 16/20 in 98. Who knows, if that’s true - I may look that way..

This is false. Prince does and they put it right on their frames along with the other specs.

They used to do it (my own Rebel 95 had SW number printed on the frame) but I do not remember seeing SW specs on their recent releases (Ripcord for example) when stringing.
