very interesting news from CNBC market report. Federer stopped by the studio to talk about his deal. Now he is a part owner as well. they only make running shoes now but may make tennis shoes as well. has anyone tried this ?

Hopefully tennis shoes on AU open, but very slim chance considering Roger's age and the injury risk involved, he didn't even fully switched to the latest vapor shoes.

This thread has already been created, his shoe sponsorship is for training and lifestyle. He’s more of an ambassador, he will still use his vapors in competition.

for your information @Nostradamus , @1990's Graphite & i have received the prototype tennis shoes.

So they are making Tennis shoes as well trying to break into that market. it won't be easy with so many competition from top big names in the sport. Shoes will have to be Top quality with WOW factor.... I wonder if it will have some special features that will WOW people. Federer name alone won't be enough.

Federer name alone is enough for so many things that i doubt it won't be enough for shoes. His name makes begginers and rec players buy a 340g racquet to start with.

If that is not some kind of a joke, you are giving out a pretty substantial information. Do you work for ON? Even Federer is reluctant to talk about that and he actually said that he doesn't plan a switch soon.

Never heard of them. But I will wear try them if Roger recommends them.
I hope Roger is sincere in his endorsement and not just selling out to an ugly shoe company.
:(

the poster didn't mention which company produced those shoes, so...
and I would as well expect it to be a joke.

Roger said he will personally have INPUT on design of future shoes this company makes. including the tennis shoes.

@Jester I did not forget, wasn't allowed to say anything earlier as we were not allowed to talk, and with Nostradamus around we would have been in trouble..
Anyway here is my mini review

Model tested: On Cloudstratus

Tennis experience/background: amateur league player, grass and hard court
Describe your playing style (i.e. serve & volley): All-court player, Love to finish points at net, slicer, caress shots.
Current shoe: Nike Vapor X
How many hours did you play with the shoe? 12 hours
Normal Size: 12us
Playtesting Size: 11.5us

First impression and initial thoughts: Super stable feel, yet they feel like a jogging shoe from sketchers, don't know the weight, but feel 11oz ! These feel faster than my Vapors, I feel confident in doing a SABR attack on any server in front of me, the speed will get me into position quickly. I feel like I use less energy in these so for those long matches, 5 setters against tough opponents I feel I can close out matches and match points at 40-15 without any issues. The CloudTec works, feels like I'm walking on soft swiss alps during the snow season.

Comfort: Super comfy the tec works

Arch support: The arch support is perfect for all arches

Stability/support: Very stable feeling shoe, could be a bit better though around the ankle area

Ventilation: No problem there and I wear two socks

Sole durability: 12 hrs in and these are GOAT

Toe durability: I drag my toes a bit, but since I avoid clay, these will last a while

Traction: Outstanding for my grass game

Weight: About 360 grams

General reaction/comments on overall performance: Buy them, they are the best

Is this fake? Logo looks photoshopped on.

Edit ... Total fake. Found the picture used elsewhere. Nice effort though.
