New Shoe Recommendations

Hello...I've worn out my last pair of Asics Resolution 5's which have really helped my feet and knees in the past. Looking for a replacement but tried my sons Resolution 7's (we have simlar size feet) and wasn't as much of a fan. They actually were fitting tighter than the Res 5's. So I guess I'm looking for a shoe with nice support that will help my knees and fit well (doesn't necessarily need to be Asics). The only thing I didn't care for in the Res 5's is that the toe box was a little tight for my wider feet. Suggestions? Thanks.

I loved the 5 and 7. Coincidentally, the 7 is the version I liked best since the 5. What I like about both is they were IMO the most stable of the Gel Resolution line. The only other shoe I liked in the past decade is the K Swiss Big Shot. It's similarly constructed to the Gel Resolution but wider in the toe box. They're in your price range.

Perhaps I should look at the 7's in a half size up. Is the KSwiss Big Shot a durable shoe? I remember liking the comfort of KSwiss shoes (haven't worn them since my youth), but they would wear out really quickly.

Just received the new K Swiss Ultrashot 2. What a great surprise. I don’t have a wide foot but there is plenty of room in the toebox. Also, great cushioning and they feel much lighter than the listed weight. Much improved over the original Ultrashot

I am presently play testing the Wilson Rush Pro 5. They are very comfortable shoe. I wore Asics for years, and these fit true to size, plenty of room in the toe area, comfortable right out of the box. Have great support, and durability seems good so far . I actually cannot say anything negative about these shoes. They will be the next go to shoes that I purchase from here on out.
You will not be disappointed.

Go KSwiss!!! Ultrashot 2 or Hypercourt Xpress. Can’t lose.

My criteria has always been to purchase a shoe with a 6 month outsole warranty. I wear my shoes out in 5 months and take advantage of the warranty. This way, a $120/year shoe becomes a $60 pair.

I've been wearing Adidas Barricade Boost the last 3 years, KSwiss before that. Just this past week bought the Barricades again but was tempted to go with KSwiss Ultrashot 2 for under $90 and 6month outsole warranty.

I'm noticing that the Ultrashots/Hypercourts do not come in half sizes at the higher end of the spectrum. My Res 5's fit fine at size 12 (I've been told those run a little long), but the Res 7's were too short for size 12's. So I'm worried that the 12's will be too small and 13's too big. When measuring my foot length I'm at 11.5 inches, which generally corresponds to 12.5 size.

That's a fair concern. Im a 12.5 walking around shoe, 13 for athletics as socks are thicker, etc. I wear the 12 ultrashots and they are tight initially. They do stretch a little. I wish KSwiss made half sizes at the larger end. As far as the Hypercourts are concerned, they are wider and the 12 fits me just right, with a little room to wear wool socks.
