new shoes or insoles?

I recently bought a pair of new balance 803's and my feet are killing me playing.

I have bunions and figured they needed breaking in. They were a bit more comfy after breaking them in a bit (I've worn them about 6 times.) Today I used bunion pads which helped a bit. They are size b (which I normally wear in shoes) Today, even though my bunions didn't hurt that much, my toe pad felt like it was burning and my toes hurt after playing for about 1/2 hour (a lot of stopping and starting and running.)

Should I try insoles or try a wider shoe?

BTW, last year I played in nikes and they hurt/burned my feet as well and I thought it was the nikes cause everyone told me nikes usually are for narrower feet.
The year before I played in Reeboks which I LOVED--they felt great--but unfortunately they stopped making the model I wore and I worn the originals out totally.

Any suggestions?
