Ditto on Mark at Alpha, he is the bomb. Great guy, will go the extra mile for you. (I haven't worked w/Brett directly, but have heard the same about him.)

I've been in contact with both guys. Mark at Alpha several years ago on some advice on my Alpha Pioneer III, and Bret at Gamma with my Tenex/Gamma 4000.

Great experience and advice.

jim e - I see what you mean on getting the best machine that Shamgod can afford. The problem is that there are many options once you get above a certain price point (i.e. $800-$1000 where the OP is asking).

I hope he's read some of the stickies on this subforum to get a better idea on what types of options are out there.

Perhaps the more he reads, the more daunting the decision is becoming......

For now i wanna just string for myself and a few others on my team, but later on i wanna string for more people and profit. I don't want to spend $400-$900 and get a slow machine or a machine that's not as good as another one. After i get good at stringing the difference in machine time would make a difference wouldn't it? I don't want to have to buy a new machine if i spent a lot of $ on this one. I just want one that's decently fast and consistent.

I had a drop weight and now have the Revo and the Revo is definitely faster. Of course it depends on how much experience you have striging as to how fast you can string. Also with the Revo you can spin the Racquet 360 degrees which can help speed up the stringing process.

I take my time while watching TV........40-45 minutes. I also am cautious, especially when doing the crosses. It is easy to make mistakes, more so if you are a beginner. How long also vary's with what type of string you use.

Well the more time i have the better. Any extra time can be used to study and other stuff. I don't want to have to take like an hour every time i string. I know in the beginning it will take a long time, but once i become good with the machine i don't want it to be holding me back.

Why are you so interested in speed? You can do a great job on any of those machines so long as YOU have good technique and consistency. I just switched from my Klippermate of 10+ years to a Quantum about 6 months ago and love it. My friend swears by his Revo. He has never strung with a dropweight and I have never strung with a crank. It is all personal preference. How many raquets will you be stringing per week, etc.? Are you stringing for yourself or others included? Portable vs Free-standing machine? Every machine you mentioned is very good. The clamps and mounting systems are almost exactly the same on each. Tensioning mechanisms are different obviously. Price is different. Customer service is a big issue as well. I have personally had no bad experience with Laserfibre and the reputation of Alpha speaks for itself. Hope this helps and good luck.
