new textreme warrior 100 came in

good morn fellas. well, my new prince textreme warrior 100 came in strung with prince syn gut duraflex 16ga and man is it headlight. that's something I'm going to have to get used to. I haven't hit with it yet but plan on doing so this afternoon if the rain holds off. after I wrapped the grip with some tournagrip and a couple strips of head tape I'm at 328 grams/11.5oz. I have high hopes for this racquet but I can see where I might try some tungsten tape at 3 and 9 o'clock position on the head unless I just absolutely crush this afternoon. this headlight deal is something I'm going to have to get used to definitely.

Who plays with HH racquets these days?

And lead at 3 and 6?

I'd suggest getting used to HL balance since it's the predominant racquet spec by far on the market. Of course you can always adjust that but HL is better for your arm, by far.

I'm going to def give it a shot before adding weight. I'm just used to feeling head heavy racquets as when I last played,25 yrs ago college tennis, that was spec for my prince cts synergy 28's. you are correct though in that it seems most new racquets are head light. we will see after I swing her a bit.
thanks,

Hmmm...
I think it's really the overall weight and swing weight difference that you are feeling. Both Synergy 28 and TX Warrior should be about 6-7 points head light, but Synergy is at least 20g heavier and 10-15 kgcm^2 more swing weight...

Also, keep in mind that few grams in the upper hoop can change the swing weight A LOT. Even if you switched to poly strings, the static weight would go up only by 2g, but SW by 3-4 kgcm^2.

blue you are prob right. it probably is the overall sw although I don't remember my synergy 28's being that head light. but, that was 25 yrs ago lol. if the rain holds off I'm going to hit the court and give the tt warrior 100 a go in stock form and see what I can do with her.

Well guys I hit with the tt warrior 100 for a couple hrs this afternoon. When I did my part and hit with good topspin and brushed the ball it hit good and deep sometimes a lil too deep. I was able to hit my topspin one handed back hand very well though. I would either make a killer topspin forehand, sail it by a foot or brush up too much and hit at the middle of the net. I’m hoping it my timing is off after 25ish yrs off the court except for a couple times recently with a borrowed Volkl racquet. When I hit the sweet spot the warrior is powerful and a spin friendly frame but it doesn’t seem to be too forgiving on mis hits. I’m going to hit a few more times with it before I form an opinion.
