New Vantage with lead under bumper??

Just picked up something to play around with. Looks brand new, not a scratch anywhere, but it's like 3pts head heavy.

Odd.

Don't want to cut out brand new strings, but curious as the why the specs are so off, and wondering;

Does Vantage weight the frames to spec by putting lead tape under the bumper?

Thanks

It seems from feedback on this forum that they would produce a racquet of any spec for a client. Maybe someone asked them for a Head Heavy configuration, and they did it.
Lead under the bumper would be the most professional way of doing it (unless, of course, they injected something right into the frame itself).

Vantage frames are foam filled. I also agree with tball that lead tape is most likely being use under the bumper.

Yes they do. I purchased one new a few years back. No special request for a heady heavy balance or swingweight and was very surprised to see a 3 inch strip of lead tape at 12, when I replaced the grommets and bumper, some time later.

I just blew out a new hybrid string job - but it was way too tight, anyway.

Pulled the top section from about 2 to 11 - nada... Odd.

Oh well. Put in a good SJ and go have fun, right?

Thanks for feedback.
