NEW Virtua Tennis 2009 & Top Spin Tennis

People, EA's game has Borg, McEnroe, Wimbledon, and actual swings of a racquet in your hand. Becker/Edberg and Sampras/Federer Wimbledon? Borg/Nadal at the French?

What else do you people want? Why are people even talking about the other games? (I suppose some don't have a Wii) The thing recognizes turns of your wrists for extra spin for cryin out loud.

Ughhhhh...nooooo. Michael Stich, but no Bruguera! Nooooo. My life long dream of getting to play as Sergi Bruguera in a tennis game will never materialize.

Hmm...I wonder if they have a Spanish roster version in Spain, and there Bruguera's included. Ah well, such is life.

For me, a dream roster of no name players would be Pioline, Medvedev, Stich, Leconte, Bruguera, Goran, Muster, Malivai Washington, Korda, Ferreira, Krajicek, and but of course the smirking little devil one Marcelo Rios.

It's such a bummer, because the basketball games everyone and their mama dating back fifty years practically.

Yeah, it doesn't look too impressive. The graphics are not good (even for the Wii). The main thing about tennis games that I really hate is that they've never seemed to put much effort into the personal strokes of the players. It just makes the gameplay so much less legit when two players who have completely different strokes, look exactly the same.

Soooo true. Game, net, match Pro for the PC has horrible, Sega Genesis/SNES day type graphics, yet it feels somehow more realistic than Top Spin 1 or 2 with waaaay better graphics, simply because they did a very good job of trying to emulate the INDIVIDUAL player nuances and stroke ideosyncrasies...right down even to Edberg's trademark little stutter step right before returning serve.

The "modern" generation console tennis games generally accurately depict the service motion, BUT everything else is generic! There's no fun in that, it just KILLS the whole fantasy aspect of the game when guys you know have RADICALLY different ground strokes hit the ball exactly the same. Ok, I can understand making the volleys look generic, but come on, GET THE GROUNDIES RIGHT for Hatching Pete's sake!

anyone try it?

I have VT2009 for xbox 360 now (getting it today) - will try tonight or tomorrow morning.

grand slam tennis for wii (uses motion plus)

vt2009 for wii (which ALSO uses motion plus)

and tiger woods 10 for wii (motion plus).

So far I can say these are very fun games. a HUGE improvement over the first wii tennis game. I think I like grand slam tennis for wii the best. ( haven't tried VT2009 for xbox yet).

btw, all these games...i got for phreee :O
