New Wilson Blade v8

I got one Blade once bang on spec and bought one from a friend way over. It was like having two different racquets. This is not good for serious players, but I enjoyed having two different ones.

Terrible... I've heard of rising pros (before rank good enough for pro stock) switching away from Wilson because sticks like that cost them matches like breaking a string in a tie break then having to play with what felt like a totally different frame.

A little confused by the "clash technology" they incorporated. The clash seems unique due to the throat design, but the throat design on the new blade seems to be similar to how it has always been. The only difference I could see was much wider grommet holes which is a hallmark of the clash.

So, are they saying the grommets are basically the big change?

Lol so it is 61 RA? How did the rumor spread that it was going to be 69-70?
Members linking to a site that was obviously bs, but then Wilson did e-mail anyone who asked the RA of the blade 98 v8 (I did), and they listed the unstrung RA as 69. This would put the strung RA at 66. I will be taking Wilson’s words even less seriously than I did before. Numerous pro shops in my area did reaffirm to me that the specs would not be changing from the v7 over the past few months when I’d ask.

Acording to the marketing this blade is really a clash but with a little more head heaviness

The v7 already had the clash technology. Not many changes here. It was what they’re saying gave the blade more soft feel like the clash.
