the BLX blade team also changed to a 22 Flat beam...is that gonna impact the overall feel of the racket?

Weight and swingweight has increased as well apparently. Feel like it closer resembles the six-one 95 18x20 then.

Sweet cosmetic!

Indeed... the spec does look closer to the 61 95 18x20.

The beam is thicker... but is the TW spec accurate?

Right now, TW lists the KBlade 98 as 20mm straight beam, whereas it used to be 21mm straight. The 98 is definitely thicker than the Tour, so if that spec is wrong, is this one as well?

If it is indeed a little thicker, maybe it is designed to address the throat cracking issue of the Kblade Tour?

Compared to the 61 95, the head shape is different, the throat opening is longer, no PWS, so there are enough differences that it will definitely feel different.

I really like that Wilson kept the leather grip and added some heft and SW - right in line with my preference.

Can't wait to demo one!

I think TW has taken to actually measuring the beams and hence they're getting bigger real beams rather than lower manufacturing specs. This was particularly noticeable with the 15mm Donnays, none of which are 15mm.

Is it just me, or does the handle of this new Tour look really short? Anyone here who got to demo the thing and who also has a two-handed backhand? Short grips get a little annoying for me with my two-hander; don't like to feel the frame at all with the top hand. Wonder if the 98 will have a longer handle.

Aside from that, have to say the new Tour paintjob just looks better and better to me.

oh my i agree it does look not bad for blx's, or maybe im just favoring since i have the k blade tour. Grr im interested in buying it as soon as it comes out and getting used to it before the season starts.

The k version of the 98 is actually stiffer than the Tour. We'll see if that holds true with the BLX. Can't imagine.

Oh come on. These blades are no less fugly then the rest of the BLX line. I am really starting to wonder if Wilson and Dunlop have lost their minds.

Wilson had a real opportunity here to clean up the graphics starting with the Blade line since they were released later. Get rid of the cartoonish stuff they inflicted on the first batch of BLX frames. IMO they should have designed the Blade line graphics something closer to the K88. Classic no-nonsense design, no clownish giant swaths of gold.

Dunlop did fine with the 4D graphics, then completely lost it with Biomimefugly.

Sorry. My $.02

I think that the cromeish look on the biomimetic is pretty sweet i think :) but the blade is better than others.....

SW of 338. That just took out 3/4 of the consumers from buying this racket right there. that is not very smart. they should have made it about 320. that way we can always add Lead to increase SW but will also please light SW racket users.

The only thing I have a worry is the increased SW of 10 on the KB98 , anyone have any insight on this?

It is deceivingly demanding especially on kicks serves, low-ball rips and aggressive returns...

Edit: sorry, I was talking about 98, my bad...
