New Yonex Vcore 100D

At the end of last month, I ended up buying a different frame so I moved on from buying the 100D on release.

But I’m still interested in seeing some reviews for it and if they’re excellent I will revisit

I spoke with the owner of the largest tennis specialty shop here in Toronto recently. He told me they're completed frustrated with Yonex and the company's inability to supply frames. He said the company is difficult to deal with and he refused to take any of the purple Percepts when they came out. Apparently demand is so high that Yonex just can't keep up with their current production facilities. Nice problem to have.
Yep. It makes me wonder if the company is being broken up? Perhaps a divorce? Or some sort of division? I know there's been a surge in popularity, but it's not enough to account for shortages. There is a production problem at the heart of it. In Chris from TW's video of Yonex's factory, I even saw juniors training without racquets. They were either throwing a medicine ball or taking shadow swings with their hands. Maybe it's a special training forjuniors without the racquet? Or perhaps Yonex doesn't even have enough to let these juniors hit! In that same video BTW, there's no video of the production line or people/robots making the racquets...

Coming soon = June.
Will be hilarious if the Python retail frame comes out before this.

I thought this... but c'mon that's in October.
If Wilson was smart they should move up their launch.
making the pre launch marketing too long and the hype dies down. (wilson's worst kept secret)

Yeah I mean the October launch for Wilson to be a PA98 competitor is 8 months too late in my opinion bc PA98 sales are strong.

I’m sure it will sell well. I was expecting a March release for the blade v10 but I guess that’s not happening?

With Yonex, I’m honestly unsure if/when the 100D becomes available. The retailer I scored the demo with gave me a 3/4 availability date and shipping 3/5. That didn’t happen.
Today they said they don’t have an updated delivery from Yonex on the demo.

Demo? Not worth the hassle...
I will buy it regardless of when it comes out. (like many others here)

Then either sell it after a few months...
Or want to buy another one, but then it will be sold out. Then to spend the next months upset that I only bought one.

I doubt the python will launch in october lol

My store still doesn’t have the news Aero’s even though they were expecting them 3 weeks ago.

I tried the vcore 98 and didnt love it - a bit too launchy and unstable. Hoping the 100D would fix some of that. Yonex needs to make an ezone 98 16x20 with 6 mains in the throat

I mean what you’re describing suits a vcore 98 more than an Ezone tbh. Ezone having 8 mains is part of its identity. I mean just making the vcore 98 a 16x20 is the move tbh. Agree with you on the vcore 98 as well. Hopefully the vcore 100d is like a speed mp but more predictable on flatter shots. That’s all I want really.

Playtested the Vcore 98 and 100 over the weekend.
98 - not a fan (coming from the PA98 2023)
100 - really liked the 100, apart from the launch angle. But the power, spin and comfortable feel were what i was looking for after the PA98 (and did not find that in the 2026 PA98)

So, got my hands on a Vcore 100D yesterday (last available in Town) and played with it today... and really liking it so far. Strung it with Toroline Wasabi (48lbs) & Wasabi X (45 lbs).
Doesn't have the launchy feel of the 98 or the 100, and so far it feels very stable (much better than the PA98 2023).
Good power and spin, and feels a lot more forgiving outside of the sweet spot too.

Will have to tweak it a bit to get it specced to my liking (slightly more weight in the handle) but I think most people will really like the 100D as it seems to have the best of both the 98 and the 100.

If anyone else has it and has been playing with it, would love to hear any tweaks you might have made with it?
And string recommendations...?

If you have any experience with the Ezone 98 or speed mp any comparisons would be greatly appreciated.

What is the static weight and swingweight of your specific 100D? What can you say about its maneuverability and net play?

I only played with the Ezone 98 for a few hours, and never in my preferred string set-up.

The Vcore 100D does have a slightly different feel... I prefer it over the Ezone, but I also know that many people love the Ezone feel, so that's very personal.
I would say that generally they have similar power, but the Vcore gives easier and more spin.
Stability wise I think they are quite similar.
What I have really liked about the Vcore 100D (especially compared to the PA93) is that it's a lot easier to flatten out shots (similar to the Ezone98) in order to switch up play a bit.
For me the reason i did not switch to the Ezone was that I felt it a bit too flat for my liking.

I have not yet measured it as I did not have time to do so, but will do that later today.
Swingweight I havent tested yet (kind of difficult to do so where i live) but I will do so once I have tweaked it a bit more to my liking.
Maneuverability so far has been good, but it's not like the PA98 2023 (which i really liked apart from the arm issues and the feel of the racket).

I will be customizing it a bit over the next few days to my liking and as I will be playing a few more times over the next week, I will share more detailed feedback here.

Yeah not a big fan of the Ezone feel but I found nothing that could flatten out as consistent as I wanted but still had decent access to spin. Even more spin but still having the ability to flatten out and a similar or greater level of forgiveness due to the bigger head size would be fantastic.

Ok, here my updated findings after playing a match and some tennis for fun.
Note, i play recreational tennis at around 4.5-5.0 NTRP level, with DBH.

I modded the racket a bit as i needed slightly bigger gripsize (bought a 2, and need closer to 3).
So I added a Tourna Gel Grip (30 grams) to replace the standard Yonex Grip, and added 2 overgrips.

Weight (strung): 346 grams (incl. dampener and grips)
Swingweight: did not check yet

2026 VCore 100D versus 2023 Pure Aero 98
Power: VCore 100D >> PA 98
Spin: VCore 100D = PA 98
Control: VCore 100D = PA 98
Precision: VCore 100D < PA 98
Maneuverability: VCore 100D < PA 98
Comfort: VCore 100D >> PA 98

Serve: VCore 100D >> PA 98
Forehand: VCore 100D > PA 98
DH. Backhand: VCore 100D > PA 98
Volley: VCore 100D = PA 98
Defending (on the baseline): VCore 100D > PA98

The VCore100D is (obviously) a racket with more easy access to power, with lots of spin too. It's easy to swing and generate power & spin, but it feels less 'whippy' than the PA98.
For now (since i only made the switch last week) I am still strugling a bit to control my power at times, but that will be adjusted once i have found the right string set-up for the power that the racket generates. The comfort is much better and without heavy hitting, you can easily generate power & spin that go deep into the back-field, which at times was difficult for me with my PA98.
Serves are great with the racket, as are the forehand and backhand groundstrokes. Defending was a big plus over the PA98 as it seemed a lot easier.
The only thing I need to get used to is the maneuvrability compared to the PA98. I wouldn't call it sluggish by any means, but it does not feel as easy to swing as the PA98.
But maybe with a bit extra lead at 12 that will change. (i play with 3grams at 12 in my PA98)

Will come back later this week with more updates, as i play tonight (fun match) and a league match tomorrow night.

Interesting write up. Just out of interest why do you feel adding more weight to the head would improve its maneuverability? Surely making it more head heavy would have the exact opposite effect or am I missing somthing ?

I’m a little confused to the logic adding weight to the head. Yonex if they’re on top of QC, should be 325-330 SW (TW avg is 328).
For a thicker beam, this should be fine.

I get the handle weight to compensate the smaller grip.

If you have any experience with the Ezone 98 or speed mp any comparisons would be greatly appreciated.
I have played with Speed MP’s the last year or two and I’m picking up my Yonex vcore 100D today, strung with Mach 10 and Wasabi X. I’ll probably post some initial impressions after this weekend.

If you watched the review that Luka did he was quite enamored of the 100D so I think he talked them into bringing in some just to see what happens. They are flying off the shelves now and I think they have less than 10 left as of yesterday so I wouldn’t be surprised if they ordered more, assuming they can get more.

Curious now if he'll review the 100D.

I think Beckett was hitting it with Luka but I agree, I’m surprised he hasn’t posted a review yet. Hopefully soon as he seemed intrigued by it too. Or maybe he’s waiting for the racquet to be more available.

I'm bit pissed to myself that I didn't bought the 100D in G4 when I had the chance, even at that salty price. It seems like a vaporware at the moment.

I think the shortage will be resolved soon. I actually prefer a G3 with two over grips, a bit more cushioning which I like.

For me G3 with leather grip + 1 overgrip was too small. With 2 overgrips it was tad too soft. I hope G4 pops ups somewhere, but it will come when it'll come.

The TW store at Indian Wells had the 100D in stock two weeks ago. Kind of surprised it’s taken this long to get it out.

Demos aren’t even available. Wondering if they’re just hoping people give up on that and just buy it before trying since there is a lot of interest in the new model.
I’ve seen it available now on their site for DTC purchases. Nothing anywhere else.
As seen a few times, TW had it at IW but yeah….can’t get that unless you’re there.

I asked the Yonex person at IW when it was released and he said now. They made a big deal about the Muse but no one paid any attention to the 100Ds thy had hanging on the wall. Go figure.

Somewhat tempted to buy the 100D from Yonex bc no one is getting demos.
But recently I acquired a ultra 98 tour so…

The 100D's specs are so close to my preferences (minus the RA) that I decided to skip the demo process. I hope it won't fry my elbow with a soft poly in it.

I’ve played with mine for about an hour now and I have elbow issues off and on. I strung it with Mach 10 and wasabi X, 52/50, feels pretty plush so far. I also demoed the 98 several times, didn’t have any issues. I’m playing with it again tomorrow, I’ll report any problems.

Posted this in the main 2026 Vcore thread but will ask here as well - I would be interested in reading about comparisons between the 100D and the new 95.
