New Yonex Vcore (for 2020 or 2021 ?)

Not sure if anyone replied but I played with the 2021 Vcore and compared it with Ezone 100 and Pure Aero and the Vcore has more spin than Ezone and less then PA. Less power than both. More control than Ezone, way more than PA. Overall, it is the best frame I played with so far. I prefer it over the VCORE SV and clash too.

Also, black paint with no markings on a racket and a white overgrip...i’ll take 10 of them
That sounds pretty interesting. I play with the 2020 Ezone 100 and like it quite a lot. I just bought a Pure Strike 100 (3rd gen) and liked it as well but the Ezone 100 is better for me, especially when playing matches.

The Ezone could have a little bit less power and slightly bit more spin and would be perfect for me. Sounds like the new Vcore 100 might be interesting.

I have previously tried the Pure Aero but found that the launch angle was a bit too high. How would you compare the launch angle of the new Vcore 100 with Ezone 100 and the Pure Aero?

Just read this site: https://tennis-advantage7.com/2020/10/26/vcore2021-yonex/ (and read it with Google Translate) where they see speculate about the new Vcore having new larger "spin grommets" like Head and Babolat use in their spin racquets.

Speaking of larger "spin grommets", anyone has noted that this actually makes a difference....? For better or for worse.

Personally I have tried the Pure Aero twice and neither time I liked it. Main reason was the high launch angle and I could see that I would need to change to a more "modern"forehand grip if I wanted to continually keep the ball in. I hit with a fair bit of topspin but I don't put an extra effort trying to put as much topspin as possible.

Why is it that some racquets seem to have a higher launch angle? Is that due to the very open string pattern?

I hope they change the color just like they did with the ezones going all blue. Make the Vcores all white or silver or a really really cool-tone almost blueish red

So originally the VCs were red, then went to orange with the Si series, then back to red with the Tour F, continued with that color with the SV & 2018 line. I honestly would like to see yellow. Haven’t seen a yellow Yonex since the RDS001 series.

I love yellow, but maybe they don't want to make the Vcore appear as a discount Pure Aero

Lol I wouldn’t call the Vcore as a discount PA just because if it was yellow. Same thing goes for the Head Extreme just like the ‘16/OG PA.

Sorry if this is off topic but could you elaborate on why you like the EZONE 100 over the PS 100 ?

No problem. I prefer the Ezone 100 as it gives me a bit more power and stability. The Pure Strike 100 is also nice and I do like the thinner frame but when I am really stretched, which happens in matchplay, I tend to play better with the Ezone 100. I had a knee injury a while ago and ever since my knees are not 100% so it seems I need just a bit "help" from the racquet. When I am in position, I can play more aggressive with the Pure Strike 100. With the Ezone 100, sometimes I have to reign in the power to avoid hitting out. I have the Ezone 100 strung with hybrid (poly/multi) at 24 kg/25 kg (53/55lbs) but can't go any higher as it is already now at the limit with regards to comfort.

I have never tried the Vcore 100 but from what I have read, people tend to think it is less comfortable than the Ezone 100. Perhaps the 2021 version might improve in comfort. I will definitely demo it once it comes out. Just hope it doesn't have a crazy launch angle like the Pure Aero.

The launch angle on the new Vcore 100 is higher than on the ezone but lower than on the PA. It also depends on the string. I am sure that if I put something very spinny on the Vcore it would launch higher. I tried it with PTP.

I don’t know and i don’t care when it would come out. YONEX should stop following Babolat’s way with producing feel-less tweeners. They should return to their routes and produce great feeling sticks like DR,XI,AI,Tour F etc.
They killed AI and DR for these two new gens that are like wooden boards: no feel, no consistency.
They also need to bring back the true Vcore 95 D. They can even do a limited run but they already put Wawrinka on VCP.... well. Too late for that.

I disagree. The new Ezone is brilliant. They should have called it something different as people see Ezone and think 2018 Ezone. The new Ezone flex feels really close to the DR, but with added stability and power. It's actually a better frame in my opinion. I still have a Dr98+ and don't miss it.

The general opinion on these boards for the new Ezone has been great and I've yet to find youtubers not praising it. It is what the new DR should have been all along. Bad move from Yonex to keep the same name and a very similar paintjob to a model that was mostly hated by everyone.

I can somewhat agree to this statement. I tried out the Ezone 98 Tour and used my old DR 98 as a comparison. For me, personally, I found little difference, as I used to add plenty of weight to my old DR back in high school, and was really surprised with how similar the feel felt to me. Not too sure what it was, but I liked all of the Ezone rackets for several reasons.

lol. It appears that post was supposed to be about the new string, Poly Tour REV, but all anyone can comment on is 'Is that the new VCORE?'...
That is some smooth teasing

Well no glossy paint for the new Vcore. I don't understand, there was a time all frames had gloss paint, but now it's all matte. The only thing I see behind this is cost cutting. The matte stuff must be cheaper.
-plenty of gloss!
-this new design is not cheap, at all!
-you are only seeing a bit of the corner, but it gives you a good "tease":rolleyes:(y)
-the rest looks more "HAPPY"!!, think candy-red mixed with flat-red and metallic-blue at opposite corners
-like i said before, its not fuggly!!?!!, and it's kinda growing on me
-it does have VDM tech on it, im hoping this makes this racquet heavier and more stable, specially on the 95

@Raysu
-yes, it took me by surprise also,, but its not just blue, its like cosmic/metallic blue happy blue, almost "glittery"
-its used as a "thick!" section on 1 corner (10 oclock), one of the shafts on the Y area (right side), and used to spell out "vcore" on one half of the racquet (2-5 oclock), along with yonex throat area (6oclock)

-anyway, you can see all that from that little teaser shot,,, cant you !!?? haaa

Cool for the glossy paint. From the pic it looked matte. (y)

I played the new blue ezone side by side with my dr and it felt noticeably stiffer and unpredictable. The so called revamp is a big fail for yonex. The DR and AI were perfect.

Are you comparing the older Ezone 98 to the newest Ezone 98? Or the DR 100 to the newest Ezone 100? I tried both and the newest Ezone 98 definitely has a softer feel compared to the older Ezone 98. With the tweeners, the old DR 100 and the newest Ezone 100 the difference is not that big as they are stiff racquets.

I was comparing the DR 98 vs 2020 ezone 98.

Guys what do you think about the VCore Pro 100 (2019) the one with green accents? I have been looking to change rackets since my babolat pure drives are getting old. Is it a good racquet or should I change to a smaller head size? Is the VCORE pro 100 good? Thanks in advance

I play with it. Very nice and underrated stick. It does need some lead though.

I suppose on the head?
I have not hit with it in a while, but I’d guess some should go in the handle. It’s 4pts HL strung, and putting any above the throat will make it closer to even balance. Unless that is what you like.

I couldn't even tell that was the upcoming version! Looks the same to me! Not exactly getting me hyped up to try the new one. More pics Yonex!
Sorry but post is not about new Vcore, but new string, right?

-its the new 2021 yonex vcore!! as @RF_PRO_STAFF posted
-the old one, does not have that yonex logo or design on its sides
-also, the blue letters are on the other side! and on my picture they look alot more shiny!!
-BTW @OlivierJulienB yonex is showing both! (in a very secretive way), small snap shots here/there, hipping things up, yawnn!!
-all i know, it better not suck!! im hoping the VDM tech on this-one solidifies the racquet, other wise it's just going to be a new shiny toy again

The Pure Drive is quite a different racquet to the VCore Pro. The Pure Drive due to its thick and stiff frame is very similar to the Ezone 100. The VCore Pro 100 has a thin frame and is not quite as stiff as the Pure Drive and offers less power but more control. Of course if you fancy more control, there are also smaller head size versions.

Whatever, as long as the 95 is a clone of the 95D with slightly more comfort (lower RA, higher TW) i’m more than happy
