Life. I've been having a hard time personally and tennis isn't helping. I'm not enjoying it at all, quite the opposite.
Ultimately I don't even have time to train and when I occasionally play it's awful, far from my true level. I'll feel like a fool if I spend $200+ just to do double faults.

Understandable. A break will definitely help in that case. Hope you will get through your personal issues and come back to tennis sometimes later once everything is resolved.

usually league play is what makes me stop liking it ... sometimes its better just to do drills, or find a hitting partner without point play. that said, hope things turn around for you, soon!

Sorry to hear that. Obviously, I know nothing of the details of what you're going through. Maybe it would help to pull the game back to just the bits that are fun or for fun. Forget about serving and winning points, and competitions, etc, just have a simple hit with someone you enjoy spending time with... then build from there slowly.

As I said, I know nothing of the details of what you're going through. Several years ago, I went through a patch where I just wasn't enjoying tennis or competing in any sports because it was all about winning and people were just too aggressive and antagonistic (which included myself). It resulted in clashes and confrontations that made me question why I was playing a particular sport (including tennis). I was not enjoying the experience, I was driving myself too hard, and I was putting too much pressure and expectation on the whole experience. I had to question myself about what made me enjoy the sport in the first place. I dialed it back to just playing for fun and not putting myself into situations where it became about winning or losing. I just played for the joy of being there or trying to improve my game. So it didn't matter what the score was or whether I won or lost, but whether I had fun that day. I made sure people I was playing with were aware of that, and I only played with people that I enjoyed spending time with. Over time, the focus changed, so did my mindset, and so did how I felt when playing tennis.

I hope this helps in some sort of way. If not, I am sorry you are having a hard time, I hope you feel better soon, and if leaving tennis helps you achieve that then it's the right move. Wishing you all the best.

You will be back, don't worry. Taking a break from tennis just means you will appreciate it more upon your return.

Yeah I went from league play to playing matches with a bunch of higher level guys I knew who were friends. And that was the most fun I really had playing tennis. I have been asked to join a few teams recently and I am really hesitant about it. Always like to think that I may find a group who is cool and competes hard, but are normal people about it.

“The Inner Game of Tennis” — can find a free PDF online. But also worth the few bucks. Highly recommended.

It would be awesome to get a comparison of this new 18x20 to the Vcore 95 red. They will be the two at the top of my list to try and maybe switch to.

Yeah, I haven’t played any league tennis this year. Mainly hitting with friends, and a couple of tournaments (playing Grass Court Nationals this weekend). Much more enjoyable...

There's a lot of things going on, and you get a bit tired when life punches you once and once again. You kind of think it eventually will be better, and maybe it start to look like it, but then again, you're dealing with a new problem or the same old one.
And, furthermore, now, what can I expect about my country? We are about to explode, socially and economically speaking. Same old story again. I'll probably have to move to another country in a couple of years, I don't know...
Anyway, I guess time will sort everything out.

Thank you guys for your kind words, you are really good persons, I sincerely whish you the best!

Lastly, sorry for the off topic, delete this if it's considered necessary.
