I still keep the legendary Pure Control 95 (18×20) in my bagA new babolat being plush??? Imagine how crazy that sounds? Since they dropped the Pure Control line they are really far from a racquet that might be called plush (If any of those racquets can be call plush at all)
This is a description of Tecnifibre RS 305Just imagine an 18x19 pure strike with a slightly plusher feel it would be goated
The thing on the Babolat is the headsize, now most brands are not making anything under 97, also I don't know if the Pure Storms were that plush (Used the GT but more than 10 years ago) and still be relevant with Head making GREAaT racquets for everyone and Yonex guiding innovation for a few years nowI still keep the legendary Pure Control 95 (18×20) in my bag
Babolat lost the segment of the market that likes using lower RA/plush racquets when they dropped the PC line. It is ironic that many users of their other lines have developed arm issues and are now switching to more arm friendly racquets![]()
Agree. I switched to Yonex and Prince after the Pure Control line was dropped. The thing on the Babolat is the headsize, now most brands are not making anything under 97, also I don't know if the Pure Storms were that plush (Used the GT but more than 10 years ago) and still be relevant with Head making GREAaT racquets for everyone and Yonex guiding innovation for a few years now
Nah. Stay away from poly and try fullbed of multi - then you will know what a plush Babolat is. LolA new babolat being plush??? Imagine how crazy that sounds? Follow Brand release schedules. Wilson releases the Ultra, Burn, and Pro Staff on Even years. Head releases the prestige, extreme, now speed(though it used to be odd years) and what used to be the instinct on Even years. Babolat uses a three year release schedule, so the Pure Aero and Pure Strike come out next year.
Check the Babolat official thread. They are expecting to release the new pure aero around January/February 2022. Not sure about strike but since Project OneSeven the strike has released in the same year as the aero.Babolat is delayed in their typical release schedule. Last year at this time , the new pure drive reviews were already on line and demos were available in some stores. However , there is nothing about about the new pure aero. All indications are pure aero release is significantly delayed. So I imagine the pure strike release will also be delayed. I hope that I am wrong…..looking forward to seeing both!
Thanks! That is good news! I will keep playing the pure drives for a few more months before I try the new aero! Maybe they will just stagger the aero release (Jan/Feb) and strike release later in the year. (Just a guess from me but doesn’t seem like a good business move to release them at the same time)Check the Babolat official thread. Read the Babolat official thread, they announced the release date.I thought Babolat would release a new Pure Strike VS/VS Tour before the next release of the Pure Strike series.
Totally agree . I currently play with the one 7. Third gen is too muted.Check out Tennisnerd. He got a hold of the new Pure Strike VS 2022. Black and Red. Nice looking racquet. Hope it plays more like the second gen project one seven rather than the third gen. Don’t like the muted feel of third gen. Dampening material should be put back at the top of the handle, rather than three and six.
Should have taken picture. What was he going to do? Call the cops? Lol.I saw a new Pure Strike VS today at the local tennis store. It was a metallic color with red a white lettering. Felt light in the hand. String pattern I believe was 16x19. The owner is trying it out. This one came with a leather handle. I was not allowed to take pics
Babolat is doing very well with its stiff performance racquet niche. It's not a brand for all players. Even its Boost series for beginners consists of stiff frames! Still, I would like to see it add a flexible racquet to its offerings to broaden its appeal even though such a frame might dilute its standing with recreational consumers.
Looks very similar to the Pure Aero VS
The rumour has it has Babalot is making Pure Control Pro 85 when Pete Sampras come back soon....
Not quite. Different cross sections from top to bottom. They share the "control frame tech" intention... yes.Looks very similar to the Pure Aero VS
Yep. That comment was about 2-3 weeks ago. After I’ve seen the videos and reviews, it’s a completely different racquet. Not quite. Different cross sections from top to bottom.
..Also 97 in^2 (626cm^2) with all its implications of 21-22-21 beam arrangement. Hope the QC is up to std.Yep. That comment was about 2-3 weeks ago. After I’ve seen the videos and reviews, it’s a completely different racquet.
Totally different dimensions as well.Is it just me, or is this mold looking like the old Pure Aero VS mold? box section head, but the shaft on this looks a lot like to older Yonex OPS shafts.
I think this will be interesting to hit with
Yes !!! Each player control frame that has been coming out is better than before... so there is hope.good to see a new player control frame either way
