NextGen Players Have No Personality or Swagger

Prior to NextGen, all of the top players of the game had a distinctive persona and identity:

Novak, before establishing himself as the BOAT, was Djoker, impersonating all of the top players, dancing, goofing off and generally having a fun time while winning a ton of Slams.

Roger was as graceful as Baryshnikov. Win or lose, his faceoffs against his Big 3 foes had a big fight feel similar to the Ali/Frazier/Foreman era of heavyweight boxing.

Nadal gained legions of fans with his wild lassoing forehand and never surrender attitude. VAMOS!

Lendl was the Terminator, an emotionless robot who put away opponents with silent efficiency.

Bjorn was the coolest cat on the planet, and Yannick wasn't far behind.

JMac was one of America's first Anti-Heroes, who epitomized the swagger and attitude of New York City.

Agassi was the badboy rock star, a worthy successor to McEnroe. And he even dated Brook Shields, or was that Michael Jackson?

But what of NextGen? They can't beat the Big 3 who are between 34 and 40 years of age. They cry and pout and whine after losing in Slams. None of them is memorable either for a distinctive style of play, or for a key Slam victory, a distinctive look or personality or anything for that matter. Not only is NextGen not capable of breaking through to a Slam victory, they aren't even entertaining or interesting on the way to losing. They are the first generic, house brand generation of tennis.

Some of the next Gen have personalities:

Tsitsipas is a pseudo-intellectual philosopher, saying the most stupid things while attempting to pass them off as deep philosophical thinking

Zverev is a clown

Kyrgios is the entertainer and joker

Tiafoe is another entertainer

Berrettini is the Italian stallion heartthrob

Thiem has similar characteristics to Nadal. He throws his whole body into shots and hits every ball unnecessarily hard.

That's all I can think of for now.

They do have personalities here and there.

Doesn't mean these personalities are authentic or always praise worthy, but they are distinctive in some ways.

I mean, Kyrgios is a disrespectfull clown, Tsitsipas a narcissistic spoiled brat.

Medvedev is a nice guy. Berretini Don Juan etc.

Tsitsipas and Zverev are hands down the two most punchable dudes on the tour.
Spoiled, stuck-up, entitled, cowards of players. The definition of man-children who don't actually have any male friends who can call them on their BS. If you told someone they were the best player in the world since they were 10 years old you'd end up with something like the ego of these guys. They're actually talented too which makes it even worse that they have awful personalities.

The worst part is they both have (poorly concealed) anger issues hidden behind this childlike facade (Tsitsipas hitting his father, Zverev's numerous tantrums+horrifying DV allegations). Fundamentally neither are likable as people, and in fact have zero redeeming factors unless you think they're attractive.

Even though they will likely be the future of tennis and win multiple Slams each I don't think I can ever pull for them. They make me physically angry.
