The good ole talent vs results argument.
It might be 4 vs 2 in SB rings but 83 has them trumped in SB appearances. The interesting thing with those guys (Elway, Kelley, Marino, Eason) is that they were all AFC and lost early to historic teams or record performances. 85 bears, 86 LT giants. Montana's Niners, Doug Williams, Cowboys Jimmie Johnson teams. The first two Bills SB loses were probably the only games that you look back and don't instantly remember anything special about those teams or games (besides Norwood). And Gary Kubiak had him 2 or 3 SB appearances as a player also
And that is just SB guys. People forget Ken O'Brein was actually pretty good and lead the league in passer rating and lowest INT percentage for a few years. Blackledge was really the only guy I would call a bust, but he was better than J.P Losman (22d pick)
