Nick Kyrgios gets defaulted in Rome

Tennis can help him figure it out by banning him, permanently. Then he can pursue stuff he'd actually like to do. Who knows, he might even get calls to play morons in movies or tv series.
He will more than likely be fined and suspended; but he should not be banned. It's not like the guy is match fixing or using banned substances.

yeah this is where I am at, its interesting that brad gilbert is calling for that or well i think a longer suspension and saying that what he said in the podcast should also be taken into consideration, whch i think is ludicrious but he has nothing to say when some of his friends say legitimately offensive things. i mean there was less hooplah with tennys sandgren and some of the **** he tweeted which pretty sure was neo **** rhetoric but w/e.

also again yes, nick's on court behavior should be reprimanded.

An excellent homage to McEnroe's famous DQ in I believe Stockholm? Purists will help me out on that one. Excellent twist with throwing the chair instead of golf-swinging it.

Nick knows how to pay tribute to his idols.
No, AO. Mac was never defaulted from Stockholm in 1984 when he knocked over the bottles with his racket.

yes, you are quite right, someone posted the video earlier in this thread.

I was blending together the Stockholm and the Melbourne DQ. In Stockholm a game penalty sufficed.

Still, clear where Nick was drawing his inspiration to create this little performance artwork.

I've been a big Nick fan all his career, but this was total BS from him today. He talks s--t about an ATG in Novak and then tosses in the towel because he doesn't have the balls to face him tomorrow. Not that he would have won this match anyway. A real low point for Krygios today. Nick really needs to grow a pair at this point.

All because of movement in the crowd? I thought maybe some comments were made. Textbook overreaction.
tbh its interesting that he reacts that way considering he loves basketball so much and is often comparing tennis to basketball and in basketball if im not mistaken fans are allowed to yell w/e they want to the players and in other sports players are always yelling **** that could interrupt play.

I don't buy the notion that NK was ducking Djok.
NK really has no pressure playing #1 Djok. Could have been a dangerous match for Djok.
On what possible grounds ? Guy who did nothing in tournaments lately, was struggling against Norwegian, doesnt prefer clay...would be somehow dangerous against No1 who just won Madrid and is in excellent form.
Maybe in tanking, bragging, slouching, being jealous, but not on Rome courts.
NK knew he would be laughing stock when ND would whipe the floor with him. This was typical "bad boy" avoiding fight thing.

Not anymore. He played 2017 Djokovic. On clay Kyrgios didn't stand a chance.

Kyrgios is finished. Unfortunately. At 24 he will not change. No use believing he will wake up. He won't. He has psychological problems that need treatment. That interview was a cry for help. A meltdown....and it spilled over on to the court.

He is lazy for sure but I thought Nick gets motivated and raises his game against the Big 3. His time in the spotlight. How can a guy with that monster serve ever be counted out?
:(

Australia’s Nick Kyrgios has branded Rafa Nadal a sore loser, the Spaniard’s uncle Toni an “idiot” and said world number one Novak Djokovic has a “sick obsession” with being liked in a podcast certain to ruffle feathers ahead of the French Open.
Speaking to tennis writer Ben Rothenberg on the ‘No Challenges Remaining’ podcast, the 24-year-old also disparaged a number of other top professionals and fans who heckle him at his matches.
Kyrgios has had a tense relationship with Nadal, who accused him of “lacking respect for the public, the opponent and himself” after being beaten by the Australian at the Mexican Open in March.
World number 36 Kyrgios labelled the French Open champion “super salty” – slang for someone who is aggressive or ill-humoured – and only gracious after victory.
“When he wins, it’s fine. He won’t say anything bad, he’ll credit the opponent, ‘He was a great player’. But as soon as I beat him, it’s just like, ‘He has no respect for me, my fans and no respect to the game’,” said Kyrgios.
“It’s not a good look for you, I feel. And then uncle Toni came out saying, ‘He lacks education’. I’m like, ‘Bra (brother), I did 12 years at school, you idiot.
“I’m very educated. I understand that you’re upset I beat your family again’.”
Turning his sights on another of the game’s modern greats, Kyrgios described Djokovic as “an unbelievable player” and “a champion of the sport” but said the Serb was too desperate to be admired like popular Swiss rival Roger Federer.
“I just feel like he has a sick obsession with wanting to be liked. He just wants to be like Roger,” he said.
“For me personally – I don’t care right now, I’ve come this far – I feel like he just wants to be liked so much that I just can’t stand him.

Happy Gilmore was funny. Kyrgios has no humour.
Personally I found some of Nick’s antics in his early days amusing. But I could see how others wouldn’t find any of it funny.

Thing is, even Happy Gilmore gets himself under control to eventually save Grandma’s house. Nick seems incapable of righting the ship.

Kygrios doing his out of control act......again! Nick said “He is f**king done” at around the 25-35 second mark. Before that referee defaulted Kyrgios around the 19 second mark!

Nick is practicing some of John McEnroe iconic throws too! Doing a wonderful job too!

I would like to see Kyrgios suspended for 6 months just to see the inevitable comments around here that without him the tour is worse.

That would bring home the point of him being useless, nobody, etc.

speaking of nick, boris such a tool. im not sure what he is trying to get at here, but nick has never equated his tennis woes with what is going in real life. in fact on the podcast he said when people ask if he's okay he says that he is perfectly fine and that people should focus on actual issues going in the world. second wasn't boris in trouble with the law or someshit the last time i checked. I'm sure people here will find it a hilarious dig though.
