Nick Kyrgios: "I don't think I've got anything left to prove in my career to be honest"

"I don't think I've got anything left to prove in my career to be honest. I’ve beaten some amazing players, won some really big tournaments, [made the] final of a Grand Slam, won a doubles Grand Slam. I feel like now, this is why you work. So you can actually have fun and just enjoy it."

Usually players with his ability want to prove they can win a Slam. It’s kind of pathetic to say that “I proved I can make a Slam final”

I don’t know if he has anything to prove, but very much doubt he will prove anything positive for the rest of his career. I think he’ll lose first round at Wimbledon to Goffin. He’s only played one match this year and looked terrible. He isn’t the kind of guy that can just turn it on.

He's The Man

I know the score like the back of my hand
Them other boys, I don't give a damn
They kiss on the ring, I carry the crown
Nothing can break, nothing can break me down
Don't need no advice, I got a plan
I know the direction, the lay of the land
I know the score like the back of my hand
Them other boys, I don't give a damn

I'm the man, come 'round
No-no-nothing can break, no-nothing can break me down
I'm the man, come 'round and
No-no-nothing can break, you can't break me down

I got gas in the tank
I got money in the bank
I got news for you, baby
You're looking at the man
I got skin in the game
I got a household name
I got news for you, baby
You're looking at the man

When it comes to Friday, I always earn
But don't try to teach me, got nothin' to learn
'Cause baby, I'm gifted, you see what I mean?
USDA certified lean

I'm the man, come 'round
No-no-nothing can break, you can't break me down

I got gas in the tank
I got money in the bank
I got news for you, baby
You're looking at the man
I got skin in the game
I don't feel no pain
I got news for you, baby
You're looking at the man
Who's the man? Who's the man?
I'm the man, I'm the man
Who's the man with the plan?
I'm the man
Who's the man? Who's the man?
I'm the man, I'm the man
Who's the man with the plan?
I'm the man
I'm the man
Ooh
I'm the man
Ooh

I got gas in the tank
I got money in the bank
I got news for you, baby
You're looking at the man
I got skin in the game
Headed for the hall of fame
I got news for you, baby
You're looking at the man

Right hand to God
First in command
My testimony
When I take the stand

Who's the man? Who's the man?
I'm the man, I'm the man
Who's the man with the plan?
I'm the man
Who's the man? Who's the man?
I'm the man, I'm the man
Who's the man with the plan?
I'm the man

I don't give a damn
I'm the man

Here is a list of what's missing from Nick Kyrgios' career:

Zero grand slam titles.
Zero masters 1000s
No Year End Championship
Never Qualified for the Year End Championship
No Olympic Medal
No Davis Cup Title
Zero weeks spent inside of the top 10.
Watch the ninth game of the third set of the Wimbledon final last year, being 4 all and 40-0 in his favor and serve, you'll appreciate how the guy can sink and get out of his mind with so little.
The fourth set tiebreaker was also an x-ray of the punk in nutshell's career.
(n)

This is perfect. It's a microcosm of what has happened with his career.

He gets close, and then freaks out and throws it away. To be fair, a lot of players are like this. They have the game to get there, but not the mentality to break that final door down.

He has proved he is a talented player without the hardworking ethic and professionalism to be a Top 10 player which might have been possible otherwise. What else is left to prove as Nick has shown us and himself exactly who he is and will always be?

I mean, yeah. I doubt he cares what I think. But I'm the type of fan he wants. I vape during changeovers and smoke joints between sets. I enjoy the whole "Degenerate Tennis" vibe to an extent but the simping for Novak and the excessive self-fellating is just too much now

I drank Coke while I played football. Real alpha shiz.

I used to play in a group with a guy who would vape after matches.

I could not stand being in the middle of a conversation only to get hit in the face with a puff of blue smoke. Yuck.

To express my distaste, I treated each match against him like it was the finals of Wimbledon.

The first three or four times, we played he didn't win a game.

He is a grand slam champion, actually.

Joke's on him, he should have been hitting it during changeovers.

Agreed, simply nothing left to prove.....for a monkey like him.

I recall Nick last year saying he may retire if he wins Wimbledon or USO because he would have nothing left to prove. He won neither and now somehow he still has nothing left to prove. His mind seems like a chaotic place.
It’s been very clear for years that he has an inability to face failure head on (which is really the only way one can achieve victory). He would rather set easy goals (or no goals) to avoid the disappointment of not achieving them. With that said, we all know people like him and it’s a relatable human condition to fear failure. It’s just that with him the innate tennis talent is so obvious that’s it’s quite clear he’s just making excuses.
