Nick Kyrgios needs to be banned from towel in his mouth

Of course I know this might sound ridiculous. After all, how do you enforce this? But, this isn't a tennis issue, it's a health-related issue. He passes on his germs to all of the girls and boys who take his towel from his mouth. It's disgusting! They should just give him a chair and say put your towel there but don't put it in your mouth and give it to someone. I don't know why the ATP doesn't step in. It's really a horrific thing that he does.

Spit got so much bacteria compared to for example sweat. It’s super disgusting.

I don't like the towel in the mouth thing either. The texture of a towel isn't ideal next to teeth. A little bit like nails on a chalkboard unless it's a bit damp. That's what I think of when he does it more so than spit. I'm programmed in a way that I try not to think about how gross it is. Snot though..... Hell no. Snot is for garbage cans, tissues, personal cloth/rag/hanky or the real deal ground outside of the court.

That was the one thing I never liked watching about Agassi, when he would drop his snot over the court. I even remember, Federer watching Agassi do it in their match, did it once himself, don't know if he was subconsciously influenced into doing it or not. It might have been the USO 2004 quarters, not sure, but I do remember it happening once.

Maybe Fed thought to himself that if Agassi can do it and this snot is bothering me, screw it :sick:. I'm funny about some things. I wash my hands way more than most people I think. It's borderline crazy how much water I use some days.

Yeah, he did an Agassi. The more I think about it, the more I believe it was during USO 2004, late into the match.

You can become Nicks towel boy then since you arent bothered by it.

Yes, could be a kid or two got sick from it. Germs travel like crazy through spit. Kyrgios travel a lot and carry maybe viruses those kids never been infected with from before.
 
What? The ball kids are handling sweat drenched towels form every single player, but kyrgios’ mouth is where we draw the line? I don’t agree with ball kids handling any players towels, but this is ridiculous.
 
Maybe Nick Kyrgios is related to former college basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian. If so, HE CAN'T HELP IT!

OP has failed to realise that if Nick has a towel in his mouth, then you dont have to listen to him TALKING AND COMPLAINING all the time.

I would suggest we actually bring in a rule that Nick must at all times have a towel, or at least a gag, in his mouth so he cant complain about where his white towel is, i want a white towel, i asked for a white towel half an hour ago, can you please make the crowd shut up, how hard is it to just radio for my ******* white towel, etc etc.
 
Ban the on court towels altogether.

If you are a heavy sweater you can use sweat bands. You can towel off during the Change-Overs. Or you can have a small towel tucked into your shorts like some players did back in the 1970s.

I cannot believe the amount of time wasted by players going for the towel at the Elite level of this sport. It is often used as a gamesmanship tactic and it should not be.

What next? We start calling the Ballboys and Ballgirls "Ball Towel Boys" and Ball Towell Girls"? That sounds disgusting !!!

As for the "Towell in the Mouth" gig ... Kyrgios is not the only player that does it. But all of them that do actually look like dogs playing "fetch" to me.

Just noticed that John Isner is also a fan of the towel in the mouth.

He and Nick should hook up sometime and chew the rag a bit.
