Nick Kyrgios withdraws from Indian Wells and Miami, further delaying 2023 debut

Kyrgios pulled out from both 1000-level tournaments Monday, needing more time to recover from his left knee injury. The Australian underwent surgery in January to address the issue after being forced to miss the Australian Open following his United Cup withdrawal.

I think it’s a bit too early for Nick to be playing at Indian Wells and Miami. I don’t know for sure what the surgeons had to do with his lateral meniscus, whether it was just a bit of clean up or trimming of cartilage. The cyst he had in there would have needed a good course of anti biotics. It would be better for him to stay at home in North Canberra building up his body and planning the best way forward.

No Nadal, no Kyrgios, probably no Djokovic. Alcaraz and Tsitsipas injured and highly uncertain right now. Medvedev and Auger are gonna be gassed and they hate the conditions anyway.

There are gonna be surprises again. I can see someone like Fritz, Norrie or Hurkacz winning one of these 2 again.

long winded way of saying he just wants to play more video games

recent instagram story shows him getting a new gaming PC

personally i think he either just doesn't want to travel or he didn't put in the rehab work but its his life lol... anyone that says they'll retire if they win a grand slam doesn't seem that dedicated to me lol

I wouldn’t take too much notice of his instagram account. He would have had his surgery late January and we are now post 4 weeks. It’s a bit early I think to play at top level. He needs to heal and probably do his knee exercises rather than gaming.
