Nick i see you on K90's now. What do you like about them? Also just wondering whether you have tried the Head Microgel Prestiges?

I just like the control and feel. I used the n90 for years and always go back to a wilson 90 after a while. I just love the thin 17mm box beam and small headsize...the feel on volleys is something else. I think they suit my game pretty well...which is get to the net every point.

Ive only used a few head frames in the past and wont be trying the microgels....ive never really got on with any of their frames.

KVN - btw - i remember that movie...it's a classic. anyway haven't tried BA yet and have only hit with CP twice but at this point it bumps SPPP out of top spot for me. i have another set of SPPP that i will try with a different cross. seems that finding the right cross can make a string shine or not. here is the thread on CP.

Thanks for the reply, bad_call. So you string your CP at 56 lbs. What did you string your SPPP at?

SPPP is recommended to tension drop 10%. there were no such tension instructions on the CP but my thinking was to lower tension 2 lbs since it was a poly...wrong. too many long balls for my all court game. cut out the strings and bumped tension up 1 lb from the multi reference. result...sweeettt.

lesson learned: don't drop tension just because the string is a poly.

That's interesting since I always thought that the rule was that all polyester should be strung at lower tension than synth gut. Did you find the spin and control to be equal to the SPPP? How well has the CP retained its tension compared to the SPPP?

CP control is not quite as good as SPPP as well as spin. however CP is very comfy and power is awesome. so upping the tension and using a control and spin type of cross string did the trick. can't comment on the CP tension maintenance since it's too soon to tell.

SPPP tension maintenance is great. need to rethink picking a better cross string than OGM for SPPP next time.

I just got 4 sets for $15USD delivered to AUS. Was supposed to get 4x1.25's but I got 3x1.25 + a free 1.30 because I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for them to get their order in. Saved me $4USD as well.

I will post a review somewhere on it, seems to be the cheapest of the soft polys so I thought I'd give it a crack, liking the idea of a soft poly main and syn gut cross, we'll see though.

how would you comare WC silverstring to Topsin CF? i have only tried the silver string, from the 2. i like the feel and spin on the ball. wishing a bit more power. would CF be a good string to compare with? if not CF what else.

Can you please do Ballistic Polymond? My string of choice! Just wondering what other people thought since its never talked about here.
 
I definitely agree with you regarding TECNIFIBRE's Pro Red Code, strung one up today with NRG2 hybrid and it felt quite harsh.

I didn't string it that high either, 56(M)/60(X)...
 
Have you tried the luxilon zulo? I was considering using that string since it came at a low price but its not really a poly string since it has some nylon mixed in it.

For some reason I have found that Pro Red Code has a lot less spin potential than other polys on the market. Just something I noticed...

You should have a hit with Gamma Zo Tour. I be interested in what you think about it. I think that if it was made by someone else it would be a very popular poly. There are a lot of Gamma haters out there I guess.

Now that you mention it, I did notice that the spin potential of the string was not anything special, if anything, it was a bit lackluster for a poly.

What polys have you hit with that are generous in the spin department?
 
So you HAVE tried Pro Supex. I guess you don't like them as much as your Luxilon. How come you like Luxilon better than Pro Supex strings? Just asking. Cause I actually HATE Luxilon and love Pro Supex

If you read in another thread I wrote a reply to the same question you wrote there. I dont dislike pro supex...I sell their strings on my website!

Luxilon just plays better for me...as it does for many advanced players and pro's. For many the luxilon feel is addictive and when you get used to it nothing feels the same...it has a unique construction (poly ether ether).
 
Nick for my referance, what stiffness would you rate Big Banger Original and PS Big Ace out of 10. 10 being high.
I know there will be a big difference but i want to know how much:)

Also you may want to edit your view on Big Banger on your 1st post. Your opinion seems to have chnaged:)

Big Ace feels like mush to me now...I really dont like it...I cant really rate them like that...Big Banger Original is much much stiffer.
 
Is LBBO (hope there aren't any lebanese people reading because that sound mighty racist) a soft poly?

No its pretty stiff....all the luxilon strings are stiff strings...they are stiffer than most the new polys on the market today.

Nick apart from lux:) whats your next fav poly?

Would lux hurt my elbow if i have a very slight pain after 2 hours play with BA?

Yes...you would be in agony after about 10 minutes :)

Honestly I wouldnt go near it with tennis elbow...when I had tennis elbow last season I used nothing but NXT Tour for 3 months..

My fav poly after Lux would be either Pacific Poly Force Original or Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour.

I was going to sort a deal out for stringing but never got round to talking about it again...with all the other stuff going on I would rather just keep buying pro supex strings, ordering from w and d and getting stuff from ****. Plus they are a bit expensive really...most of my customers just want a cheap poly, hybrid or full synthetic gut/multi.

As you know i bought a Speedport Tour and used it for 7 days straight. I got tennis elbow fairly easy from it.

I have use my LM Radical for the last 5 years:)

The SP Tour was more stiff, heavier and a different grip shape. Would these all increase the chances of TE.

If i demo some rackets, what should i look for? People say heavier is better for TE but i think it probably caused it

Yeah a new frame can bring on tennis elbow. I think from the specs the SP looks very arm friendly...

You want my honest opinion?:

Stick with the Radical OS..

Because I think you will keep getting heavier sticks based on what people here go on about instead of something that suits your game...you also seem to be very used to the radical and i just think you will find it difficult switching...there really is no reason to switch..its a good racket...I used to pay for a hit with a coach that used them stock...he was a 1.2 LTA rating so they are fine for high level play.

Thats the thing lol, im trying to find a racket that has around the same weight as my radical (320g) but the SP Tour is the same weight but feels a lot heavier.

The speedport tour is about 15 grams heavier...


I dont understand...why are you trying to find something the same..?!
 
Well not identical but 1st of all i want something slightly different.

1st of all a smaller head than 107":)
I want a racket that is a bit better on serve
and a more open string pattern than 18x19

As for serving and a more open pattern, try these:
Dunlop Ag 200 16x19 or Babolat Pure Storm.
both are slightly heavier than the radical and less power, but great for serve and feel, while keeping the baseline aspects.

I have years ago but didnt like it...seemed a bit cheap feeling for luxilon and dropped tension even quicjer than ALU Power.
