Nike 2024 General Thread

The Cage will finally die, the one upside of Rafa retiring. Time to force Nike to innovate and get with the times.

It’s a solid shoe but 4+ years in the portfolio with little to no player endorsement is an issue. Wouldn’t put it past them to keep making them for another year because they had loaded up the supply chain with raw material purchases

It’s a solid shoe but its competitor have grown far past it. It’s so far behind the gel res, barricade 13, and others in every way. Nike needs to put some money into their tennis department.

Yo, got the hat today. Love it.
Wish this came out on NDC so I got buy multiples.

Today is just that day I guess. I got the Alcaraz tank in the mail today. Might play in it tomorrow morning @gino

It's so simple that it made a few of my other tops look silly, so the Rafa AO19 for example is going on the auction site now

I did play this morning, was about 80 degrees and sunny. I was able to wear this thing with no issues despite the color--it's that light and well ventilated.

@gino I'm considering buying the other colors now since this one performed so well

Edit - I feel really stupid. They are back in stock at $80. I paid a little more than that with shipping because they were sold out everywhere. My mistake. Still love it, but that one hurts.

It's surprising that this never made it to NDC in the US. However, it has shown up at a few smaller online retailers in the past week and some local stores after only being sold at TW in small quantities.

I just bought two more. Another black one and the mango one

Glad it’s working out for you man. A nice look and hopefully they do something similar for him in AO25. All we want are clean functional designs and color optionality

Hard to see how you upgrade from this.

I'm so color/heat sensitive I can't even wear the blue 2015 Rafa RG shirt outdoors unless it's below 60F, and I was wearing this tank in 80F sunny weather because it's so light and well ventilated. Honestly how can it get better?

And just to echo this I pulled out my sleeveless tops from the 2008/09 timeframe and they are still quite nice but they have nothing on these Alcaraz tops, nothing. Cut and materials are just miles ahead now

But what about the design? Maybe I’m just a nostalgic but the 06-08 designs were cooler. Again, I’m biased so don’t hate on me.

I think 2012 had a lot of really thick/hugh quality stuff, but totally agree. Stuff today is just better design & if the materials are sourced right it’s usually great (my alcaraz 2023 Wimbledon shirt is excellent)

In terms of aesthetic design, I take 07-09. In terms of functional design, anything from 2024 is likely better / more ergonomic. One rare exception is the 2008 Federer clay season polo. GOATed aesthetic and function

I absolutetly love that tiafoe shirt. Cant wait to see what alcaraz and sinner wear for the rest of the year!
Maybe Sinner will put the pink on pink like Draper and Rune, I started to think Nike wants Draper to put the most akward and ugly fitting shirt of the collection just because... Hopefully, he can move to Boss or something more fashion forward or give them a bit more love like they do with Musetti

I actually really like the shade of that pink that Draper and Rune have, or more so on the shorts though. I agree that the Tiafoe one is great.

Sinner is very conservative with his color choice and I expect his bespoke line to reflect that

Draper's shirt looks crazy oversized because he sized up. It's a boxy fit but he looks like he's wearing XXL

Musetti obviously makes his own color choices and rarely chooses wrong
