Speaking of basketball shoes, ive never worn a basketball shoe in my life. Though they seem very similiar to tennis shoes, stumbled on the KOBE VIII on Nikes app and though it was a tennis shoe at first look.. GT cut really look like a tennis shoe as well. Sole, outsole enforcement etc..
Has anyone here tried playing tennis in a basket ball shoe? Are they similar or just look similar?
I ordered a pair of Under Armours called drive clutchfit 3, in white black colors, cause they really look like murray’s custom shoes. The outsole is really similar to a tennis shoe, i will try it and update you if you want

Any basketball shoe would be amazing for tennis... The biggest downside to using any basketball shoe however is the durability. Basketball shoes are mostly made with a softer outsole meant for grip in indoor basketball floors. Basketball shoes would get destroyed on tennis courts, but would work amazingly while it lasts for that short time..

You can actually find some outdoor basketball shoes that would work perfectly for tennis courts however. A popular outdoor basketball shoe is the Way of wade All city 12 .

It doesnt really look like the vapor 12 worn by Rune and Korda tho, i think its just a “special” from basketball collab..i love it tho, looks like the shoes worn by fed on AO 2007
The only thing different is the upper, which id imagine is just some fly wire and patent leather, otherwise it is the same shoe (midsole/outsole/etc)

Try the Sabrina 2, better than any tennis specific shoe for tennis that Nike is selling today

Kinda like the Hyperdunk retro, plastic ‘achilles guard’ notwithstanding, but then I’m gonna look like Nick the Dick, and that’s a fate worse than death down under.
(It’s hard to claim ‘street rebel’ status when your parents have to give you $240+ for your kicks.)

You shouldn't worry about these things. Half my tennis kit is "too much"

And I don't understand why the shoes would make you look like Kyrgios. He wore regular Vapors too. Guess you have to bin those as well, wouldn't want to look like a professional athlete now would you

Don't wear a tank with compression top underneath. Short of that I don't think anyone here needs to worry about looking too much like Kyrgios

My personal style inspirations on court are Roger Balderer, Carlos Balcaraz and Baldenzo Musetti

I did play this morning, was about 80 degrees and sunny. I was able to wear this thing with no issues despite the color--it's that light and well ventilated.

@gino I'm considering buying the other colors now since this one performed so well

Edit - I feel really stupid. They are back in stock at $80. I paid a little more than that with shipping because they were sold out everywhere. My mistake. Still love it, but that one hurts.
So the alcaraz black sleeveless finally came in? Not exclusive to europe

I just want the bull logo off all my rafa clothing is there a way i can make this happen after 5-7 washes but keep the nike swoosh intact? Lol

Maybe if it tape it down when washing
honestly, lately nike stuff have lasted me something like 5 washes, really cheap materials, logos peels off easily, really disappointing since you pay them an eye of the head

I totally get it. Lacoste and On gear are much less expensive and breathe much better. You should go stock up on those

Maybe you could share which items you bought that were so problematic, and how you're washing them

Completely agree, also On stuff looks stunning. Im looking into Under Armour world, cool designes and stuff, but also i will never buy things with logos that are not really stitched (nike wise, will never buy again things with a logo that can peel off)

Ok, but can you tell us which specific things you bought that were so low quality? I think a lot of us would appreciate the heads up.

Yeah sorry i didn’t finish to read your post. Anyway, i found that issue with Roland garros 2023 green shorts in particular, logo peeled of after 4/5 times i used them. i used once 2018 Ao fed shorts and logo was starting to detach on the extremities, 2023 alcaraz USO shorts after one use they had a strange white fade that is hardly coming off (before washing them). Also i was washing them at 30 degrees wich is the bare minimum for a washing machine. Sometimes also hand washing.

That is disappointing although not surprising--a lot of people have reported problems with the shorts in recent years. I only buy 2/1 shorts and I don't experience this.

I always wash inside out but I'm not sure that would have prevented it in your case. But most of my stuff looks really good and the only things I have with peeling logos are from the 2000s or early 2010s

My logos peel but the ones that i wash inside out do not get ruined

That toe is gonna look real bad after a few hours of hitting.

Overall I'm shocked at the lunar-ear look of the midsole/outsole, I know it does not have any lunar foam, but that scalloped layered design was not well regarded. (Fed never wore the V7, LB was not a player favorite, etc).
I think youre dissecting that midsole detail a little too harsh. I recall them playing just fine. I would not use Feds use or non use of something to determine its regard by the tennis public.
People are always harsh on the new Vapor but then want more of them at the end of the lifetime. The Lunar 7 and its scalloped midsole was no different

Dunno, no one on these boards has ever been clamoring for more V7s or V8s, let the public voice be heard!

I had a pair of V7s, the navy pair that looked great, but the lunar was lacking after a few weeks, the resilience of a traditional air unit would have been better. I was a devout LB user and still have tons of Cole Haan Lunargrands in rotation, I personally was happy with the Lunar era, but it is definitely not celebrated widely in tennis or sneaker world at large compared to other Nike tech eras (max, flyknit, zoom).

Under Armor?????? What??

I’m not sure what’s happening in this thread with your washing techniques. I never have issues with logos peeling that quickly and I’m wearing the same Nike stuff 3-4 times a week. Maybe my wife deserves a major shout out.

Btw I am curious to hear about anyone who has actually WORN On tennis gear since I’ve never seen it in the wild or spoken about. The pros stuff gets stuck to their bodies, given the price it’s a major turnoff

What else coming to support that? I'm a huge Nike fanboy so hope so!

Well, a Vapor/VP that seem to be the shoes we wanted when the Vapor X and Vapor Pro 1 exited the scene

Then the Hypersmash and then the Kyrgios shoe coming back--that is a 9.5 right?

So if you like Vapors this is probably gonna be a good year. And on top of that we now have a real successor to the GP Turbo. Good times

Kyrgious Kyrie shoes are Vapor X flyknit. But Kyrie is no longer with Nike, is that really happening?

I just remembered that when I saw someone talking about it. So, that would seem to be an obstacle, but I doubt Kyrgios would have said something without a reason/without being given the OK by Nike

Yes, its a basketball shoe but i love it cause it look like murrays shoe. About the logos i dont know what to say, maybe i use weong techniques, but still if something is pricey i shouldn’t be worried to wash them at freaking 30 degrees lol
