Nike 2025 General Thread

No surprise once again, Carlos in his PE shoes

It looks good, it looks like his Vapor Pro 1 in 2021 USO. I just got my hands on a pair of that beauty last year.

I think CA rocking the heritage logo is cool
Can you rock the red top color-blocked shirt with the red shorts?
Do I think it’s a nice outfit yes definitely can be rocked, however I don’t think it screams Indian Wells possibly 2x champ that’s all I’m saying. He’s typically in brighter clothes, good outfit just don’t think it gives me Indian wells vibes or Miami vibes? No?

unfortunately nike hasnt show us the same flair/quality they did for the Fed nadal 2007-2017 run. It felt like those outfits never missed

i think the bigger mistake was to throw him in pink for a third consecutive year. also i think the crew has some palm springs vibes

have you been out there? the downtown/hotel scene has a lot of that gradient aesthetic

Truth but I'm looking at my gear from that timeframe and I'm seeing separation at the seams, smudged logos necessitating careful handling, peeling logos that are gone, and fabrics that snag if you look at them wrong

I'm also not a big fan of the stuff pre-2014, I think it looks very dated with the big floppy collars and shiny performance fabrics

I think their fits were way more tailored/custom fit, bc I agree some of those dont age well from a retail perspective.

Heres a few hits I love pre-2014, timeless and more classy than the pink CA tops from last two years (I even bought the 2023 pink crew. couldnt help myself as I saw him live using one)

Always wanted Fed’s baby blue Vapes; had the general release navy ones bitd - man those were like slippers.

Alcaraz will be wearing the red top color-blocked shirt with the red shorts
Kinda interested that recently on tour the trend has been to wear the same exact outfit throughout a tournament and even some several after. I get you have to be a big big star to have specific gear made for you to have a completely new look each match but I'm surprised seemingly nobody will switch up a different color top, shorts, socks, shoes, etc. Even someone of Novak's stature keeps it uniform for a whole event and I'm sure he could get a whole new outfit produced for every match if he wanted.

Is it some kinda trend that brands mandate the athletes stick to one specific look and not deviate and just become common place in the circuit or are players today not as into switching things up?

If they’re trying to sell a kit it needs to be identifiable and recognised for me than one match imo. Ppl want to emulate these players and feel validated in choosing an item because they’re in it - no?

Sure but it's not like most of the brands only have one of each item. Like Nike has a blue version of that striped shirt Carlos will wear, along with a few various colors of a basic shirt. Back for AO Carlos was only wearing that mineral green tank when there was also a yellow tank. Wouldn't they want to have all their various items in various colors be displayed? Maybe not? I guess maybe it's better from a marketing perspective to have one look per athlete and have it just hammered home. Just kinda curious as this has been a fairly newer trend across all brands.

RG2022 was the best example. IMO their best collection ever. And the players almost all wore the same shirt/shorts. Musetti, Rublev, Rune all wore the exact same thing. Fritz and Carlos wore the same shirt and Shapo / Sinner were the only ones to wear the zips (which came in 3 different colors). I have all the mineral teal/obsidian/mint foam pieces which is itself 3 tops and 2 shorts. That's to say nothing of the crews and zips that came in Ocean cube/coconut milk and the yellow/white/black that Shapo wore. Missed opportunity to show off the whole range IMO

The yellow tank was gonna be for Tiafoe

Nothing to do with the fit, and I also think that fits got a lot slimmer after that period.

My Rafa and Delpo tanks from 2008/9 are like dresses compared to my Carlos tanks from last year

It's just the materials. People generally think things were better made back then, and I sort of dissent from that view.

I definitely dissent that view as well. My 2008 clay season fed polo sleeve court logo has deformed/deteriorated. I’ve only worn it like 12 times

Also my 2007 RF French polo had the logos melt in transit when I bought it on flea bay

Designs were excellent, execution not so much. Feels like I’m 2025 we have the inverse issue? At least for mega stars, Nike has been pretty steady with apparel design for 5ish years. Highlights include us open 2020, USO 2021, RG 2022, etc

I just wish we’d balance minimalism and flair. Both should exist in each collection

Oh absolutely agree with this - still think it's the best collection they've put out in years. Tbh most of 2022 outside of the USO stuff that I didn't really care for, was fantastic. And seems like there's still heaps of it out there.

2022-23 are seriously underrated, my favorite Nike gear by a mile

This top is reminiscent of a prior Nike release, but I can't put my finger on it. Was it something Rafa related?

2015/16 Challenger tops?

I'm no fan of red, but that outfit looks great

@gino it's the white/white on the feet that makes it classy

It’s a fair question. It’s just never been done this way except for select AO/USO drops for the Fedal glory days bc of the day/night session dynamic. They had two kits in the following: USO 07/ AO 08 Fed / USO 08 / AO 09 / USO 09/ USO 10 / 13 AO etc etc

I think sinner wore two tops throughout AO25 this year. Very odd for current Nike. We’ve seen a few colors of alcaraz in a few majors (uso 24 comes to mind)

I think it’s everything. Simple color pallettes. Gradient color blocking. Just an all around stellar fit. Would rather seem him in the red v12 cosmetic on his vaporaz tho

Too much red, IMO

Maybe with red socks but white socks/red shoes no.

I thought Alcaraz only wore the black at USO24?

And yeah Sinner did wear two tops, alternated the yellow polo with the yellow crew. I thought that was actually cool. And the little PE touch of having buttons on the collar

I think he just only played night sessions before he got knocked out so didn’t debut the pink

Just a heads up, the RG line is underwhelming as I said months ago. Crew has a hooped stripe design and the polos are solid with a white collar.

I said it before and il say it again... uninspired.

Smh man. What a bummer. I always look fwd to the summer line, some of the best designs in Nike tennis history come alongside the backdrop of the red European clay

I quite like what Rune was wearing, the white/navy/light blue/sky blue alternative to the Alcaraz one shown above. Simple but quite clean with the white shorts too and enough colour on the top to make it interesting enough.

Are they abandoning this design as soon as the French Open? Would love to have seen it with a few different colour combinations.

I actually do like this….i apologize to everyone I think I jumped the gun I think it’s one of those outfits you need to actually see on the court cause this by far looked better than I expected.

There will be purple and green variants coming later this year.
